Walked in with no reservation and was seated immediately. The bartender was also our waiter, thankfully it wasn’t crowded. If you like Indian food this is a great place to try.

I’ve ordered from soo many Indian spots in Astoria but none come close to Yaar. 100% my go to. Fresh delicious food. The coconut naan and Tikka Masala are to die for. I would eat this everyday if I could.

I ordered Lamb Saag which is lamb cubes cooked in spinach and Alo Gabi Matar which is cauliflower, pea and potato dish, Lamb Samosa, wooow these samosa’s were a bomb. Filled with meat. Lamb saag was absolutely delish. Basmati rice and naan bread…. I was so happy with my meal and serving was so generous that i had some left over for next day as side dish. This was my first time ordering from Yaar indian restaurant and won’t be last. They took my order over the phone very efficiently and delivered my food within 30 minutes to my door. Woow ! Very impressed. Overall food was delish and home cook fell to it. Tasty and every dish tasted distinct which i like. Because sometimes you order food that “everything” taste the same. This was not the case with Yaar. I was very happy and i highly recommend ordering from them or visit them. Bon appetite!

A decent local Indian spot right on Ditmars Blvd, however, having been to many great Indian restaurants outside of NY this place fell short. The interior, although spotless, felt sterile and unwelcoming, definitely didn’t have the cozy atmosphere that I typically get in Indian restaurants.

Visited the restaurant first time with a friend for a quick bite. This was on a Sunday evening 02/19. We ordered the tandoori mixed grill. Food and atmosphere was amazing and relaxing. The manager was very kind and had a nice conversation with us. Recommend this place. Will come back! Thanks

Absolutely delicious, generous portions and fair prices. Service was friendly and attentive. Not the most thrilling decor, but everything else more than makes up for that.

If you are an Indian, please save yourself few dollars. It’s definitely not worth your money. We ordered biryani and Chana masala yesterday and they both tasted sweet. The chicken seemed to be boiled in hot water and mixed with biryani rice. It’s definitely not flavorful. If you taste raita, you don’t need to order a dessert. These dishes are not made for Indians.

I’ll start by saying that I have been ordering from Yaar since they opened and it is by far the best Indian food in QUEENS! Not only are the dishes authentic, flavorful, and well cooked, they are affordable and huge portions (with delivery, I can get a couple of days of leftovers in with their food and it still taste so fresh and yum!), they have fast delivery and never disappoint! I love their vegetable biryani, naan, paneers and butter chicken! I recommend them 100000% to anyone who is interested in trying their delicious meals!!!

This place is a joke. For 24 dollars you get half a pound of chicken and half a pound samossa, then plenty of sauce (I guess to drink) and some rice
