Got the opportunity to travel here for a day and saw this was on Triple D and wanted to check it out. This is a fantastic hole-in-the-wall pizza joint. We tried three different pizzas, and all three were fantastic, including one with mashed potatoes on the pizza. If you’re in town, and can wait for the wood fire pizza to be made, it’s worth the wait.

Update: 03-25-23: Finally returned to try again and it is fantastic! The cooking process has been perfected and both Murder by Meat and the Dilly Dilly were fantastic, but the bestest was the fried pickles called Frickles! Incredible!!

After ordering delivery and pickup pizzas covering a large portion of their menu, I’ve found that there is much better pizza to be had elsewhere in Fairbanks. I gave Hungry Robot several fair tries, but they can’t beat better toppings and crust and a much more broadly appealing experience at other restaurants in town. I have not yet tried their food truck’s pizzas, but delivery often arrives lukewarm or cold (even in the summer) and the delivery/pickup pizzas are always cooked unusually (charred on the outside which I enjoy, but doughy/soggy in the center). The flavor options are good, but that doesn’t counterbalance the other things wrong with the food, and you can get good flavor/topping options at other spots.
