We came here as an unreserved party of 5 on a Sunday evening to celebrate a birthday. We knew we were taking a chance, but we couldn’t have had better food or service! Melissa R took great care of us! She was personable and attentive. The food was really good. I thought my meal was a little on the cool side, but other than mine, no one else had that complaint. We’ve only been here twice, but one thing I appreciate about Dark Horse is that they do have good gluten free choices for the celiac in our family.

The place itself was super cool. However, the $16 Crispy Chicken Sandwich was a pre-made, low quality chicken tender definitely from a frozen food bag. I forgot to take a photo, so picture school lunch quality with fancy bread. I feel bad not leaving a good review, but it honestly blew my mind. We also got the fish/chips & clam chowder that were okay, plus our server was very nice and the place itself is neat, so go but definitely don’t order the chicken sandwich.

I love having such an awesome place close to home to take our friends! The Dark Horse has been in operation for a few months now and every time we go it just seems better and better. Whether it’s the kitchen staff preparing delicious fare, the amazing service (our hostess Shelby and Server Christine were both very attentive and personable) or the cleanliness of the restaurant, I definitely give 5 stars!! The new menus are beautiful!! The Shepard’s pie(so good I’ve had it twice), bangers and mash(sausage from a local butcher) , the seafood chowder (YUM!) , the burgers (lamb burger is full of flavor) and fries (sliced perfectly thin) are all yummy!! Let’s not forget dessert!! Deliciously Rich creamy chocolate torte made by a local baker is the perfect finale!

My girlfriend and I stopped by The Dark Horse Irish Gastro Pub today and we’re pleasantly surprised. What a gorgeous restaurant. The food was outstanding, the staff were welcoming, and the prices were very reasonable. We even met the new owner who made it a point to introduce himself and made sure we were absolutely satisfied. This is our new favorite restaurant. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience. I look forward to coming here again.

The Dark Horse is a true gem in Flint Hill. It feels like a home away from home inside. The staff are fantastic, knowledgeable about the menu, and handled our large crowd with ease. Food is delicious as well! Everything we have tried comes out hot, yummy, and we cant wait to make the trip back for more!

Overall great place and experience. The food was delicious, staff was helpful and friendly and the restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. It’s a bit of a trip for us but I hope to get back someday. It will be on my list the next time I am passing through.
