We really enjoyed the Cattleman’s! A couple of things worthy to note before you visit: call ahead for reservations, if they’re full, you won’t be seated. The atmosphere is really trendy, and upscale. Especially for Sac City. Cute little town, just not the gem I expected to find. Now to the food; neither my husband or I ordered steak, I know, I know. But I wanted drinks and desserts so I went with chicken. LOL. The sides are ala carte, which is typical for steakhouses. I tried the brussel sprouts, and they were good. Nothing award winning, but I love them, and my family doesn’t, so I treated myself. The chicken was perfectly cooked, seasoned correctly. The dessert, well, we took to go, and honestly, I don’t need to have again. But the drinks – those were phenomenal. I tried the Wisconsin Sunset and I would drink that again. The Italian Margarita was a bit strong, and a bit burnt on tequila, but I wasn’t wasting it. The staff was pleasant, and attentive. And we just truly enjoyed our experience. We look forward to returning, and we’ll both have the steak. Oh, my husband had the burger and fries, and loved them both.

Stopped here by chance. Excellent food, my taco salad was the best ever! Great burgers. Special was roast beef sandwich. Would definitely order all again!!! Make sure you have cash. Do not take cards but does have ATM machine close. Thanks!

Sack city definitely has a hidden gem in their midst. Quite a pleasant surprise to find this restaurant here. Big city restaurant with small city prices. Definitely worth the travel to get here.

They have great steaks at a great price! I’ve never ordered a petite ribeye that filled me up until now , most people will be able to make 2 meals out of it.And if you order the dude portion , you can probably get 3 meals !

This review is for a visit more than a year ago but I feel I owe it to this restaurant to leave them a 5 star review. This place still comes to mind when I’m asked where I think the best steak in Iowa is served. Ordered the Surf N Turf and let me tell you – that ribeye was beautifully marbled and delicious. Flat out fantastic. I was in town on business and haven’t been back since, but if I ever do return I know I’ll stop in here for dinner.

They have really great meat dishes at a nice value (cash or check only, no CC). The ambiance is a bit dated and western feel, but clean. Salad bar was very basic and I willful do have given 5 if a little more variety in it. Ideally this is a 4.5 score. Good place for steak or burger.

The restuarant itself is nice and clean, but somewhat difficult to find and get to as a non-local. The food is hit or miss, one person in our party got the “Dude” steak and was very pleased with the food, while another got a sandwich and was not very satisfied. The wait staff was very responsive and friendly. Overall I would say this is standard bar/grill food and atmosphere.

Tuesday night. Waitress was nice, patient, since I kept changing my mind. I had stuffed shrimp which was very nice. Hubby had the “dude” size ribeye. I tasted it, nice flavor but a little tough even though it was medium. Atmosphere what you would expect from a small town, no frills but clean and comfortable. A little pricey I thought.
