About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

Called 17:45 arrived at 18:35, still wasn’t ready, deep dish comes with nylon topping I guess shown in picture below, worst ever deep dish I had. Thin crust pizza was ok but still why pay 17$ when you can get same for 5.99 at domino’s. Will not order again, was very happy to this location just across the road from my home, disappointed.

They are always very late with their pizza. They will tell you 30 minutes but it will likely be an hour wait! And good luck getting them to answer the phone when you’re doing curb side pickup.

The ingredients are fully Lou’s, so delicious! This location, though, is still learning how to bake the pies. It opened this year and we’ve ordered 4 times now (we missed having our Lou’s pizza from our other neighborhood). Each time was different. It is always soggy and under done, once was completely doughy through all but the edge. I decided to request well done on our last order to compensate. We ended up with a rock-hard waaaay over done pie.

I’ve ordered about 4 times since they open, my thin crust pizza has been bland and soggy and I didn’t want to order anymore, but the new General Manager Manny changed that. He went above and beyond to ensure that I was happy… my order was just perfect, just the way Lou Malnati’s is supposed to be.

Food was not ready for 20 minutes past the pickup time. I also received the wrong food. I called back and was offered a refund for the incorrect order. They never refunded my money.

Ordered a thin crust well done and it was delivered 20 min sooner than expected and the veggies were still raw and the crust was pure white . Had to put it in my oven for 30 minutes to finish cooking it. Not going to this location again

I love Lou’s but if you’re a regular you know the quality of the pie varies. The first pizza from this location was not good. Service was outstanding. I will be back soon hoping for a better pie and will update.

What can I say? I was at this location when it first opened a little over a month ago. Dangerously close to where I reside, lol. Anyway, I noticed a woman who looked familiar. Sandra. I truly believe she is one remarkable lady. I was stunned to see her there and then she explained that she floats from location to location helping out (especially, during new openings). She always has a smile on her face, a wonderful head on her shoulders, always professionally dressed, and her customer service is impeccable. For example: I witnessed her being calm and collected the WHOLE time a man claiming he owned the town yelled at her (inches from her face and in front of the really crowded space) for not being able to order a slice of pizza and that he KNOWS Malnati’s. Ummm, excuse me sir, you obviously do not. Today, I walked in because my little sister ordered a pizza for herself. Sandra was there and that triggered my mind into writing a review about her, since she’s normally not there and I’ve been in and out ordering salads and pizza. At 11:30am already having over a dozen pizza orders, there she was just handling business, promptly and swiftly. The energy, vibes, and flow when she’s around is massive. Her essence will resonate and carry on in the air even when she’s not working at this location the staff will be successful. I say, BRAVA to her and to whoever signs her paychecks that she deserves a raise **wink**
