Ever heard of FLASHbird? It’s a craft fast chicken sandwich spot. I had never heard of it myself and was surprised to see it in the location. It was just out of nowhere one day, so I had to stop in.

This place just opened up, and we decided to give it a try. They had a nice touch screen monitor where we placed our order and paid.

Five stars to help bump rating, because they definitely don’t deserve the two star rating, imo. Overall, though, more like a four star experience – mostly due to cost. My husband and I each got a spicy chicken sandwich (each sandwich came with two sauces) and shared an order of waffle fries (w/ spicy honey so $1.50 extra), no drink, which cost us $37. There is no option to dine in, so must be taken to go. Honestly, we really enjoyed everything we ordered, but still feel it is way overpriced. Would love to eat here occasionally if the prices come down a bit.

They need to change their buns. The bun turned into a floppy mushy mess. The chicken was juicy, but under seasoned and not crispy, the pickles on the sandwich were good but the lettuce was mushy. The waffle fries were just Ok. The onion rings were absolutely delicious. The ranch dressing was delicious also. I would not go back.

With the understanding that this location just opened, I can’t say that the food would have been any better with more longevity. The drinks were $6.00 and only half full and we spent $6.00 on sauce that should have come with the meal. The chicken sandwich and waffle fries were okay but definitely underwhelming. The dinner cost over $50 for two people and to be honest, just wasn’t worth it.

I was excited to try this new place out but was sent away by the employee inside because they do not accept cash and cash is all I had to pay with. What kind of restaurant doesn’t accept cash is the owner out of their freakin mind!? I can’t say how the food was but looking at their menu they seemed a bit pricey too. $12 for a regular chicken sandwich and I wanted to add cheese and bacon which is an extra $5 and after tax it would’ve been almost $20 for a sandwich and it’s not even a sit down restaurant. The spot they’re located at has had so many businesses come and go I doubt they’ll last very long

This past Wednesday was my first time trying Scotts Valley flashbird. Very disappointed. I spent $20 for a chicken sandwich and waffle fries. The sandwich was dreadful, bun was floppy, chicken was dry… and the waffle fries were truly Luke warm at best. And to top it off, the sandwich wasn’t wrapped very well, so as I proceeded to take it out of the bag, it all dumped into the bag!

I can’t believe I just spent $30 on two sandwiches and a tiny container of coleslaw. The chicken sandwiches were mediocre, bread was floppy and chicken was like leather, it was at most a $6 sandwich! We will not be returning.

Couple kids trying their best in the kitchen, not their fault it’s over priced with no seating anywhere. Decent food, small portions, high price.
