We ordered takeout tonight, and unfortunately the food was….impressively bad. My husband’s sausage parm was so greasy it leaked out of the container AND out of the box that container was in. In fact, grease was pooled in the corners of the box. The garlic bread was butter bread. No garlic flavor at all. The pasta itself was a overcooked and mushy, and incredibly bland. Same for my philly. I understand having to season to personal taste, but everything we got seemed like it had never even seen salt or pepper, not to mention garlic or any Italian seasonings. My husband even commented about how bland everything was, and that man will eat almost anything. Considering the ASTRONOMICAL prices this restaurant has taken to charging, this should not be the quality of food given to customers. $15 for a sub I had to go home and fix? $20 for a dish of pasta that we ALSO had to go home and season? Garlic bread with no garlic? No, thank you. I should also mention that it was not even remotely busy. There was one couple in the restaurant. It’s unfortunate, because the food here used to be decent. After this experience, there’s no way we will be back. Maybe it was just an off day, but we aren’t willing to risk another $40 to find out.

We are disappointed with Alys. Last evening we wanted to dine at Alys. We were in Roanoke and were aware that the restaurant closed at 9 pm. We called and informed the personnel that we would arrive at 8:30 to 8:45. We were a hungry group of adults and were prepared to spend on food and drinks. We were told not to come, as our arrival would be too close to closing time. Is this any way to grow a business? Are decisions such as this how the owner expects to expand her clientele and especially prompt paying customers to return time and again? I don’t think so! Sure staff may have had to stay after normal closing hours. In the very competitive restaurant business this is a reality that successful, long term establishments understand. Thus our group eat at a different restaurant. Most important we will not be supporting Alys in the future. It is apparent that they do not care for our business, why else would they tell us ‘don’t bother to come’? It not as if we were going to arrive exactly at closing time (9 pm), we were going to arrive fifteen to thirty minutes prior to closing. Think about it!

I’ve been overcharged twice, was told it would get credited to my husbands account, still waiting. Food is good, but pricey! People are nice, but the employees need to pay attention to what they are charging. Every bill needs to be separate when there is a group, Not all on one. I give 2.5 Stars! I doubt I will be back.

I placed a delivery order and received cold food. The manager Dana had no interest in compensating for my past experience and was more interested in discrediting my story. Very rude and confrontational. they weren’t able to look up my order and verify that I placed the order a couple of weeks back. If I could share a lower rating I would. Got on chrispy chicken salad. Cost over $20. It wasn’t chicken tenders but a chrispy chicken Patty cut up( and s very small Patty at that). I would expect to pay this price at a chain restaurant not a local dive. This place has really went down over the years. Would have taken it back but I ordered for pickup
