First time eating at this restaurant (they opened in Oct 2022). I had the spaghetti and clams. It was very good and the broth was absolutely outstanding. I also had the chocolate martini after my meal. It was like drinking a liquid brownie. Our server was awesome and had great recommendations. Other people in our party had the fish and chips. They weren’t as thrilled with their meal as they both felt the fish had too much batter. Overall, great visit and I would definitely eat here again.

The Alto Restaurant is a Brunch delight as you are treated to warmly yet efficiently to any brunch beverage you desire. Warm fresh-roasted bean coffee is never empty while served hot plates of choice selections of perfectly made-to-order eggs, tasty meats, and any sweet side baked or griddle-flipped creation you desire. This wonderful makes me realize how long it has been since every portion on my plate was served perfectly hot!

This restaurant is a hidden gem. The terrace is amazing. Comfortable seating great summer breeze. The service was top notch. We had delicious drinks made with care. The staff particularly Jacob were attentive, friendly, and super accommodating.

Overall, this place wasn’t great. I ordered a lobster roll and fish tacos and it was terrible. Very bland, too much fish in the taco and the lobster rolls were overcooked,dry and lacking flavor. I wanted to like this place since it was convenient but do yourself a favor and go else where for dinner.

This is a hotel restaurant (period). Very.clean. Food was basic…Portland is a foodie town. I was expecting more. Lights were blaringly bright both at bar and dinner tables. For dinner, people want a relaxing subdued experience. I blame the manager for the lights and atmosphere. Next, waitress was friendly but could not understand our simple drink order. Also, appetizers came out with meals…kitchen fault…I would only come here in future if everything else was booked to capacity.

Terrible service, barely warm food and just an overall bad experience. If you are looking for a place in downtown portland do not go to this one. The looks will deceive you. Burger was okay, but bacon was cooked too much. We ordered a steak and didn’t even come out at all. Nice restaurant area, but just okay food and terrible service. Our server didn’t even apologize when they didn’t serve our steak. I would not recommend Alto terrace bar and kitchen.
