This place is really cute. Staff are excellent. Not a lot of English but incredibly nice. The food was delicious. Mexican carnitas plate and I had steak, chicken, shrimp and eggs. Absolutely delicious. The decor is amazing. Whoever the artist is, they are totally amazing. I definitely recommend it.

I cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant. The atmosphere was wonderful, the staff was very helpful and kind, the decorations were beautiful, and the food was amazing. We started at a restaurant down the street about a block, and it wasn’t very welcoming to say the least. So we left, and came here. I’m so happy that we did. I found my new favorite restaurant. If you plan on going here, make sure to bring some cash. When we went, there was a gentleman selling roses, and a young lady. Selling chocolate covered strawberries to fund her quinceanera. Overall a fantastic experience. We will be back.

Great food, great staff. Came in wanting to sit on the patio. I got the Birria tacos and my boyfriend got the Ceviche mix with tostadas and ended it with dessert. Both amazing flavor and presentation. We were told we were the first people to eat outside for the restaurant. They definitely made us feel special. Martin was our server and gave excellent service and was super friendly and personable. We definitely will be back if not regulars. Great job guys!!

It was our first time trying Kalakas, I didn’t know what to expect, but I expected it to be better. I got the Oklahoma burrito: comes with chicken, shrimp, steak, rice and beans. I got my sauce on the side,and was told it was really spicy but it lacked heat and flavor. The rice could use more seasoning but the beans were good. Babe got nachos they were good-more cheese than meat but good. His other dish was okay, and daughter got the birria tacos. It came with the consomme and a different side sauce, they were good to her, but could definitely use more flavor meat wise to me. Maybe we went on a not so good day ♀️ but I like to give places another chance oh yeah the salsa and queso was good, queso was a lil thin tho

I absolutely loved this place. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would! The birria tacos were so flavorful, and the sauce was delicious! Our server Alma was fantastic, and recommended the nopales gordita, which was absolutely delicious. It was spicy with loads of flavor. I can see this becoming a favorite spot!

We came around noon on Sunday so it was very crowded, but the staff was attentive and seated us quickly. Because of the large crowd it took longer than usual for our food to come out, but again the staff took great care of us. We ordered the Mole Poblano Chicken Enchiladas and Carnitas Plate. Both were good dishes. Neither were the best we’ve had but they were solid dishes. The mole has a spice level to it that’s not too strong (we prefer a little spicier). It was a little too sweet for us but it still had good flavor. The carnitas were cooked well, but again we prefer more seasoning and spice in our meat. Overall Kalakas has good food, good staff and an improvement over the previous restaurant that was at this location.

If you’re looking for the best Mexican food in OKC. You don’t have to look far. These were some of the best homemade food I’ve had in some time.
