Honestly, I wish I could give this place a 5 star because it has so much potential. The menu is phenomenal, the vibes are 10/10, and the staff are all super friendly. The issue is that the rolls themselves don’t always come out properly rolled and fall apart when you try to eat them. This is not always the case but the inconsistency is something I’ve noticed after coming here a handful of times. The service is also very hit or miss and I understand that they can be understaffed at times so that’s not a big deal but just wanted to let y’all know. Despite that, the staff are all super friendly, the vibes are 10/10 (sit outside for sure), and all the sushi is phenomenal. Definitely my go to sushi spot in the east bay.

Sit in the outdoor patio area if possible. Very nice environment with fresh air and natural light. Bento box with tempura and beef teriyaki was mediocre. Tempura was not battered and fried to have a light airy coating. Mix of vegetables in the tempura was disappointing. Beef was tough and fibrous. Tonkotsu ramen was very good. Service was friendly and quick. Parking is street parking with worrisome broken car window glass on the ground and sign in restaurant warning about not leaving valuables in car.

Don’t let the name fool you, this spot has it all from sushi, to ramen, to bento boxes. I personally only sampled the sushi on my first visit and the sheer number of choices of things I wanted to try was unmatched. When it arrived it was exactly as described and tasted wonderful. Definitely excited to return to this spot and try more of the menu

It was a fun lively atmosphere and the food was good… just a little weird that the fish for fish and chips was the same as the fish for the fish tacos. It was good but shouldn’t have been the same, maybe? The drinks were good and the wait staff person was friendly and prompt. I would definitely go again and try more menu items

It’s a travesty I don’t come here more often. It’s called Judoku Sushi, and the sushi is incredible, but the thing is everything is incredible. It’s an unassuming spot, but the service is great and disciplined (that’s a weird word to use but I think it’s accurate) and the food is just consistently great. It’s the rare sushi spot where you can take someone who doesn’t eat sushi and feel confident they’ll still get top tier food. And for the Bay Area, and for the top notch food you’re getting, it’s quite affordable.

They have done a good job renovating the outdoor seating. It is very pleasant, lots of plants (fake though) and patio heaters. I love that it is dog friendly. The sushi is delectable and satisfying. We ordered the salmon skin hand roll, the Yami-Yami, the Sexy Casanova and the Hot Ninja 2. Prices have gone way up since last time I was here about a year ago, but in all fairness everything has gone way up.

4 words: Blue Fin Lover’s Roll. If you come here, it is a must order. It is now my favorite sushi roll to date. It’s got black truffle pate and it changed the game. More sushi establishments should utilize black truffle. The dragon roll was also fantastic. Service was great. Rolls were delivered faster than we could finish our complementary miso soup.
