After being promptly seated on a busy Tuesday morning, the polite and nice folks here took our order and promptly served us our food. We were hungry as heck given we had been traveling. So the huge portion sizes really helped. The food tastes amazing and the bottomless coffee really helps wake one up. And everything is really reasonable given how good things taste.

Food is always good but service always sucks. Especially the older hostess with short dark hair. We just left (Friday 5/19) at noon and she was completely rude. She sat an older couple at a table near my family of 6 and apologized to them very loudly for having to sit them next to a family. Except there was hardly anyone in the restaurant, in our section alone there was at least 9 other open tables. Made our family feel like we aren’t welcomed or a burden. She kept loudly talking about how she was sorry to inconvenience the elderly couple by putting them by us. Then when we were leaving we let her know the pop machine needed it’s carbonation changed because we all had soda and it was flat. She was extremely rude and told us “You should’ve said it to your server” um, if it was an issue we would’ve. We were letting you know so you could change it for other customers didn’t have to have flat pop. This is her attitude and general customer service every time we go and she is there. Waitresses are inexperienced but always friendly and try hard. The older man who greets people and seats them is always kind and goes over the top to be professional and polite.

As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted with smiles. The owner, who was pleasant, seated us and even pulled our chairs out for us. Our waitress was very friendly. The food came out EXTREMELY fast – not even 10 mins. after we ordered. It was large portions (I’m 250 lbs.) and it was delicious! I see some other people leaving negative reviews and it makes me wonder if they’re just miserable Karen’s. This is an easy 5 star rating. Next time I’m in Portage, I’ll definitely be back.

Food was very bland. Eggs were watery. Biscuits and gravy had no flavor except a taste of flour. No meat in them. Husband got a skillet and it was so small for the price. Waitress forgot our toast twice. Waitress didn’t come over to r table when we first got sat for over 5 minutes. She looked at us a few times but never said anything to us. For 2 adults and 2 kids it was over 60 bucks and one of my kids just got 2 sides. Won’t be back.
