We stopped to have lunch at Carmines on our way home from Atlantic City and what a great choice! It was easy to find, not too far off of the highway, and plenty of free parking. The owner greeted us personally and our waitress was amazing. The food, absolutely what you’d expect from an authentic Italian NY deli. Fresh quality meats, extensive menu, and ingredients that I haven’t had in my cooked meals since my grandmother cooked for me – she was from Italy! So delicious and there was a steady flow of regular customers coming in for takeout while we were there. We also had the pleasure of listening to live jazz music throughout our meal. The owner surprised us with two plates of assorted pastries on the house. He was touched that we were a party of six, all extended family and traveling together, and seemingly enjoying it. The owner got up and sang along with the musician on stage and he was really good! So glad we picked Carmines for our lunch stop, what a great place where we shared more memorable moments and enjoyed some of the most authentic Italian food we’ve had in a restaurant!

I wish I could give 0 stars for the type of service I just received. Me and colleagues ordered food to work which was all wrong and not up to their usual standard. I ordered an omelet and turkey bacon w white bread and the order was messed up. The bacon not even cooked. They sent us coffee w no sugar and incorrect dressing on the salad. I called to complain the owner Rob kept calling me out of my name as Margarite and would not let me speak at all. He told me that he’s mad someone else at my job ordered food and cancelled and drivers are not being tipped. Then told me he was going to give us a credit and hung up the phone. He literally wouldn’t even let me explain went on a rampage and hung up the phone after which is really disrespectful to a loyal customer. I order from them very often but will happily never be ordering from them again after their ghetto customer service from the owner Rob. The girl who answered the phone was way nicer. Sad.

Holy cow! This is the mother of all Italian delis and cafes-and beyond. They do italian specialties and have their own unique twists and even a Vegan menu! I ordered the thyme lentil summer soup and the Georgia Peach salad. Will definitely go again, may have to move in.

The owner helped me choose the sandwich and when I left it was raining a lot, I didn’t bring an umbrella, the owner told one of his employees to take me to my car with one of his umbrellas, all of the employees are very friendly. excellent everything

Terrific roast beef and cheddar on a role. Absolutely perfect! Excellent roll, crisp lettuce, quality cheddar, horseradish mayo spread…and the roast beef—rare and delicious! They have live bands on the weekend. I plan to return to check that out in the future.
