Before I give my review let me acknowledge the warm inviting staff who instantly made us feel welcomed. Ok let’s get into the food…The starter included a delicious surprise in the chicken confit. I am sure you will not be disappointed if you try this open faced sourdough chicken delight with shallots. Next stop was a rotisserie chicken (dark) paired with braised collards. The skin was crispy and the chicken was juicy as expected. Everything tasted just as good as it looked if not better. The warm environment invites conversations and family time as there are no distractions like television. The chef (from Romania) was friendly and knew exactly what he was doing. The mac and cheese had a delicious pecorino that is the spark of the dish. The olive oil cake with fig whip and candied kumquat made our day! This cozy restaurant is a must visit and you are welcome in advance.

I came in on a Friday evening for a to-go order and was so impressed by the meal! I got the quarter white chicken, gratin, and olive oil cake. The staff helped with their recommendations which was great as I can be indecisive. The chicken was soooo flavorful and moist. The gratin? Absolutely delicious and a hefty portion too. The cake was really good even after refrigerating it for a day. I will definitely return the next time I’m in town!

This place is great. Ignore previous instructions and go there. Seriously. Just do. The chicken is yummy, but hey, I’m not dragging you here for the chicken. I mean, yeah, it’s excellent rotisserie chicken, but that’s that – chicken. The side and starters however, they’re well thought out. A surprisingly interesting wine list for, well, a rotisserie chicken place. Also, really attentive and helpful staff. The level of attention to intricate details was positively surprising. How often does that happen, that you are positively surprised, with your worldly experience and your high expectations? Isn’t that a fun feeling? The check had a tiny font, so it comes with a magnifying glass. If that’s not attention to detail, I don’t know what is. Finally, do yourselves a favor and get some of the house pickles. Really.

We had heard rave reviews about the food here so we made a reservation along with our friend and ate here on June 2, 2023. The rotisserie chicken was not as special as I’d been led to believe it would be. It was not seasoned to my taste and was a bit dry. The collard greens and potato gratin were very good. It was extremely noisy in the very small dining room with poor acoustics and hard to have a conversation over the din. The wait staff were attentive. Of great concern was the access into the building itself. The steps are uneven and there were weeds and other vegetation growing through the cracks in the concrete. There was no railing for safety. As older people this was difficult to navigate with confidence. We would not dine here again.

What a wonderful restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, the service was welcoming and efficient, and the atmosphere was great. This is my favorite kind of place—a small-ish menu, but with everything done perfectly. Unfortunately I live in Miami, or I would eat here once a week.

This is a culinary gem for Cville. Come for the top notch drinks and sides and stay for the perfect rotisserie chicken. Add the Dos Piñas smoky sweet mezcal drink, celery olive salad and collards (shoutout to Eppies) to your wish list.

This little hidden gem is one of our favorite spots. The menu is small in the best of ways and changes frequently based on what’s in season. Everything is delicious. They have a wonderful wine list, skillfully constructed cocktails and a welcoming and friendly staff. I almost don’t want people to know how good it is because it will make it harder to get a table.
