Had the mongolian beef around lunch for 7.00 sum with a cup of water. It was good, I usually don’t eat onion but it was cooked very well with soy sauce. The portion was not very large but it was filling enough for lunch. Overall good service.

If you’re in the Live Oak, Universal City or Converse area and you haven’t tried Pho La, you’re in for a great treat. Especially during the winter time I’d suggest having their seafood pho, it’s just got that Spirit – I always seek out Spirit and Soul when I look for Asian cuisine and by God, it’s here.

Pho La is a small restaurant and does not attach many San Antonians, yet those that come are mostly couples. There is nothing extraordinary with the exterior nor the interior. The furniture is basic but clean. Likewise, the restroom is surprisingly clean. The flavors and ingredients are fresh and simple, expect plenty of veggies like broccoli, celery and carrots to fill most of you dish. The pho is on point as well as their stir fry beef noodles. The thia beef drunken noodles were disappointing given that it was not spicy and the noddles were too short to eat with chop sticks. It appears that Pho La is run by three people; however the service is fast and accommodating. I would return if I were in the area!
