For the most part, I enjoyed the buffet, yet there were a few things that could have been better. One was the pepper chicken was, too sweet for my taste, and was dry. One was the low mein could have used some more vegetables. The other was the Mongolian beef it was way too hot with Sichuan pepper. The coconut shrimp was wonderful, as were the green beans, the stuffed mushrooms, and the chicken and broccoli. All in all, it was a good meal, lots to choose from. Staff was attentive and kind.

I have eaten at this restaurant 2 times now. Each time the food was so hot and fresh. All of the workers work SO hard to be sure everything is ready to eat and that all people eating there are happy with their food. I ate so much I could hardly hold it all inside. I highly recommend anyone to eat at this restaurant at any time.

The place is clean and wait staff was friendly. The buffet is not huge, but still has a decent variety of options and it was kept well stocked. The food is just okay. Nothing terrible, yet also nothing amazing. Hy-Vee Chinese food is honestly better so I’m not sure it’s worth the trip over here from CR.

The staff at this restaurant were all very polite even went out of their way to make us comfortable as they were getting ready to close but opened back up just for us the entire restaurant is very clean a wonderful atmosphere will most definitely dine there again and again Thank all of the staff for our experience at the Lucky Buffet

Food was good the sesame chicken was a bit tough also noticed prices must of went up cause spent 60 tonight and now they charge u for 3 year olds and it was 2 adults a 8, 3, 2,and 2 last time spent u der 70 for 2 adults two 8 yr olds, 6, 5, 3, 2, 2 don’t know how we spent almost the same and we went a couple months ago

Good buffets are a dying breed. This buffet is one of the few good buffets left. Food is fresh and tastes good and price is reasonable by post-inflation standards. I go well out of my way to stop here when I’m passing through NE Iowa. There are no longer any good buffets in Waterloo and Iowa City and there’s hardly one in Cedar Rapids. Aside from one in Dubuque and the casino in Marquette, this may be the only one in northeast Iowa.
