A classic dinner feel straight out of the 50s with some exceptional customer service.

This restaurant has been around for decades. It’s a Mom and Pop establishment. The food is consistently delicious. The prices are reasonable and they always have daily specials. The waitresses are always polite and friendly. The place is not terribly fancy but is always very clean. I like to support local businesses and I’ll continue supporting The Pancake House as long as they let me. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A couple times a week they offer an all you can eat fish fry that’s double delicious.

Positive. Pretty good food. Nice staff. They payment stuff was weird. Manual written receipts. But overall a nice experience. My sister loved her french toast but didn’t like her eggs. She ended up getting the fruit plate as well and also enjoyed that.

Great sandwiches. Had a wonderful California chicken sandwich. The sourdough was toasted on the griddle just like a grilled cheese would be. My partner also enjoyed his turkey club sandwich. The server was very friendly and helpful with the menu. The menu has a lot going on.

One of those friendly small diners where you end up becoming a regular. I happened into the spot once by chance and now it’s the preference for breakfast/lunch in the area. Gives you the retro diner feeling and very hearty portions on your orders. Came across the all you can eat fish fry and definitely get your worth out of it!

Love the family atmosphere here. This is an awesome place so much more personal service over the corporate companies. If you are looking fora spot with a great menu and where they remember you come here. This is your new home.

The Pancake House stays the Pancake House. It’s classic and caloric. People come to indulge. I went to indulge. Once a year for my birthday club discount. A whole plate of delicious high carbs that I totally finished. My friend went for the omelet. Service good. Maybe someday they’ll put a pocket door in the bathroom setup so you don’t slam someone leaving the toilet enclosure in the face. Change the door, but not the pancakes!

Best breakfast place in El Cajon in my opinion. The waitresses are wonderful people. The atmosphere has a good, laid back old school feel about it.

Our waitress was very nice. Service was slow but the place was packed. 10 am on a Sunday. The biscuits and gravy were good, and the traditional eggs and bacon breakfast served with pancakes was ok.
