Starting with the positives the food here was really good. I had the Red Beans and Rice with Sausage. It was spicy without being overwhelmingly spicy. It was easy to get a seat and the atmosphere was great. The only drawbacks we experienced was the speed and attentiveness of our server. Our food took about 30 minutes to come out and we had a very hard getting a refill on our drinks. Overall it wasn’t horrible I just would just recommend going if you have time to hangout.

You know I hadn’t been there in a long long time, the business was flourishing. It was a short wait but it was worth it. I found the food absolutely marvelous, nice and hot delivered in a timely fashion. The waitress was on her game, immediately took drink orders. Brought out the appetizers for those that had ordered it, then your food. The atmosphere was a little noisy for me but there were a lot of different activities going on, but it was tolerable. I’ll definitely go back again

Great, unique restaurant in Des Moines. Our service was awesome and friendly, food was good, and the open layout and location of the restaurant were cool! We ordered the cajun nachos with sausage (highly recommended), the Louisiana Purchase, and the Cajun Combo + cajun cream corn. Huge portions on all of the food. The fried food in the Louisiana Purchase wasn’t my preference, but the Cajun combo was phenomenal. The jambalaya was so good, as well as their cream corn and coleslaw. Good hot sauce selection, too!

Hurricane & Margarita, alligator appetizer, crawfish etouffee with fried crawfish tails & rice, red beans & rice with andouille sausage, rice and hush puppies! How is Cajun food this good made in Iowa?! Yum! The roux is everything! Some of the best Cajun food we have eaten! Excellent!

Great food and service I hand the Bayou sampler there’s more than enough to eat lol. My wife had the blackened Tilapia and it was delicious and great portion and I should mention the Giant cheese sticks too. We set outside on their balcony. I would recommend you try it out.

This was the worst food I ever ate, honestly, which was really surprising because I had seen this place rated really well. But none of the food is actually Cajun food, like I ordered the gumbo to see what it would taste like, and it was the most confusing dish I ever saw. No where in the south would anyone ever put bell peppers and tomatoes in a gumbo. Not only that, but it was so thick and dark that it was just gravy over rice. Idk if any of the cooks have ever seen a gumbo, but that ain’t it lol

It’s 105 degrees out at 8pm, but the patio was still pleasant with the mist fans. The food was delicious! We all tried different menu items, and I really enjoyed the etoufee, but I might have to stop in on the next trip to try the chicken dish that our server recommended. By the way, if you are fortunate enough to be served by Steven, you will be blessed. He was wonderful, patient, and great with the kids!

Came to BB our first time from California while visiting our friends. Got the shrimp fettuccine, chicken fettuccine and gator fingers** would recommend both although food could’ve been a little warmer. Our server was training and mentioned it was her second day training we all loved her. She was very sweet and friendly and kept checking up on our table and refilling our drinks. Had good suggestions about bottomless mimosas for 10$. We didn’t get her name but she was tan with long hair. The server training her was also great. Would recommend to anyone. *Edited – thought my friend got the loaded hash browns I was mistaken.
