Everything was AMAZING!! Great Food, Service, Ambiance. Special shout out to Rich!! Some of my favs were the Drunken Noodles, Coconut Panang, Asian pear salad, lumpia, KFC, potstickers, truffle wagyu tataki, OH and of course their desserts: Ube cheesecake, chocolate bomb cake and fried ice cream…everything was so good! Will definitely be going here regularly.

Today was me and my girlfriend’s first time ever in this Pan-Asian restaurant that is based in lovely St. Charles, IL. Upon entering, we noticed how impressive and sophisticated the interior setting was. And that we were welcomed by a staff member (filling in as a host) who would then lead us to our table. We looked over the menu and they had a variety ranging from sushi, entrees, buns and more! The food we chose didn’t seem all too pleasing. The vegetable fried rice was very soggy and oily. And the lemongrass chicken was really delicious to me, however it was rather salty being dipped in soy sauce. It probably would’ve been best if my girlfriend and I requested to have it put on the side instead. The Korean fried chicken (known as KFC here) bao buns, miso soup and the potstickers were great as we had no problems with those. The service was okay from the start, but it seemed that the server and the staff ignored us (unintentionally, let’s hope) towards the end, as it was just an hour after their opening in the day. We tried to signal their attention and even raised our voices, but to no avail. They were just too busy, even with less customers that time. Plus, the dance music seemed to be at a high volume, which is why they probably couldn’t hear us. It was only at the very end that the server finally came to us with the bill. We felt very disappointed on this experience. Perhaps it will even be the last time we step afoot in this place. She didn’t like it. I am a little more lenient, feeling mixed. Everybody usually give them a high rating, but in our case, moto imōto is just average to us. There are other Asian restaurants in the greater Chicago area that surpasses our expectations and we’ll stick with those moving forward. Or listen to people we know that highly recommend a place to dine-in.

Food was 3 stars, the appetizers were the most flavorful, all delicious. We had honey walnut rock shrimp, pot stickers, lumpia and Korean fried chicken wings. The sushi was average (dragon roll and moto imoto roll). The lobster curry bisque and miso soup were ok. The Mongolian flank steak, lemongrass chicken and vegetable fried rice was average. Service was 2 stars. After Grace took our order, she didn’t bother refilling our water and barely cleared the table while the dishes were coming out. If it wasn’t for the speed of the actual dishes being delivered by another male server, I wouldn’t have tipped. As it is, I gave 15%, hopefully it at least gets split amongst the service team and not all going to Grace.

This is a go-to favorite destination for lunch on the weekend. Their Bento Box options provide a nice variety of items to choose from. Their cocktail and beer selections paired with a great ambiance round out an enjoyable dining experience.

If I call this place the best Japanese joint to go in this area, it will not be an excess assessment. Food, drinks, service, taste, decor, ambience, price and value – all were par excellent. We went for a special occasion and this place did not disappoint. Try and get an appointment as this place gets busy very fast. Worth every penny.

I loved the food. We ordered 5 items from the menu and all of them are really good. If u are into spicy food, I would suggest to go with the szechuan fried rice

Food is very good and come in generous portions. We had the bang bang shrimp and sushi to start off. Sushi was not great. Needed to be colder and just didn’t taste fresh. Everything else was great. Pad thai was tasty. Fried chicken was crispy and delicious. Service was great too.

The drinks are good, but the sushi is awful. Service was great too. For around $18 each, the rolls should be quality, but they’re not. No fish and no real substance for $18. They clearly don’t have a sushi chef making the rolls either. The basic maki was the best roll and half the price. I took a picture of the bottom to show what was inside.
