Finally! I had driven by Mr. K’s a few times, and they were closed, but traffic routed me by there, and I finally got to try them. I’m from Michigan, and catfish is a staple food. Not so much in Tucson, so I jumped on the catfish platter and got the greens and Mac and cheese on the side. Everything was hot and delicious! The catfish satisfied a craving I had had since moving here! I couldn’t leave without trying the ribs, so I got a half slab to go and the peach cobbler. I wasn’t disappointed! The ribs were big, meaty, and juicy. The peach cobbler was good, too! There is a menu displaying a lot of choices so you will find something you like. Enjoy!

Best BBQ I’ve had hands down. Service was amazing. I had pork ribs they were soft and tender. Sauce was so good I was licking my fingers clean the whole time. Corn bread was moist too. I got to taste greens, sweet potatoes and beans. Everything was so good.

I had an appointment in South Tucson. Looked up local places. Decided to try Mr. K’s Original BBQ! Hole in the wall joint with amazing food. Which are my favorite kind of places ! DELICIOUS food with a very gracious and courteous staff that is accommodating and CARES. Something that’s been disappearing from many businesses. Best BBQ I’ve had in my 17 years of living in Tucson. Will definitely be back with friends and family next time. Thank

Real barbecue and real flavor. Mr. K’s does a great job. If I were to complain, I’d say the cornbread muffin was a little bland and the mac and cheese a bit too thick for my preference, but overall everything was very flavorful and satisfying.

First time here today and it was great. The food tasted great my friend had the ribs and I had the pulled pork sandwich. He was satisfied and really liked the sauce. It took the sauce home with him I also had baked beans but the baked beans didn’t have that smokey flavor but they were healthy tasting. My friend like this cornbread because it didn’t crumble. The corn on the cob was saturated with water and kind of watery tasting so it wasn’t very good but it was corn on the cob. Overall it smelled good from the first half second the door opened and I love that smell of barbecue. Staff was quite friendly. The dining room is mainly picnic tables but everything was comfortable. There was a TV large screen but it wasn’t working or turned on. There’s a stereo system but there was no music. So that’s why I gave it four on the atmosphere but mainly don’t go here for the atmosphere you go 4 da food!!

We ordered rib tips and fried catfish and hot links. Definitely was NOT a hot link. It was just a smoked sausage. Nothing special at all and not a bit of spice to it. You could tell that the rib tips would have been good if they weren’t overcooked and dry. The catfish was pretty good but seemed like it was cooked in old oil because it was too dark. The greens seemed like they were straight out of the can. They were not seasoned and were very soggy. The macaroni and cheese was just okay. We threw the sides out. Not worth the calories. The bbq sauce was great. If we go back, it will just be for the sandwiches only.

Every thing prepared was the done the way I referred. It was like I home-cooked it. You cannot do better than that for me.
