We took an afternoon drive and this place was our lunch destination. Located in an old hotel it has a very quaint but casual feel to it. Decor is fitting for the location and the dining area is quite inviting and relaxing. Our waitress was outstanding. The owner Bob came out and spoke with us while we were waiting on our food. Everything was delicious. Give this place a try, it was worth the 2 hour drive.

Neat place with plenty of ambiance. My half pound burger was about 75% shy of the mark and seemed like it was fresh from the freezer. The pie was claimed to be home made but I’m not sure in which factory. Other than that the place was clean and the people were nice. I hope they improve the food quality because everything else was good enough to make this place a nice destination.

Beautifully restored hotel lobby and excellent food made for a very enjoyable day visiting this historic area of Missouri. No vegan fare so l opted for vegetarian with the grilled cheese and apple sandwich on sourdough. The cheese included cheddar, provolone and muenster and the apples were thinly sliced maybe caramelized. Very tasty and obviously grilled with unsalted butter. The side of potato salad was also very good. The hardworking owner was friendly and happy to answer my questions about the building’s history. We’ll be back!

My daughter and I each ordered one of the specials, lobster ravioli and salmon burger with homemade dill spread for the bun. Both were delicious! We topped off dinner with a piece of homemade peach pie. It was wonderful! The dining room is bright, clean, and nicely decorated. The chef came out to greet us and we highly complimented him.

Humphrey rueben fabulous, mouth watering. Mississippi angus burger, unable to hush my moan tasting the juicest burger, carmarlize onions, smoking sweet. Beautiful old building. You pay attention to the fine detail of ingredients. I love baking coconut buttermilk pies, your pie is a delicious treat.

High quality food served in a charming location. The beef tenderloin (marinated 5 days) was tender and flavorful. The reuben sandwich was the best I’ve ever had! Homemade potato salad and good coffee. Plus the owner is friendly and knowledgeable.
