We stumbled upon this restaurant walking in the neighborhood on our way to another restaurant. The atmosphere was magical with the twinkling lights, fire top tables, and New Orleans decor. Craft cocktail we’re on point, jambalaya was delicious, clam chowder was unlike anything we’ve ever had. The beignets were warm fresh and the best we’ve ever had! The staff were so charming and friendly. The chef operates out of his adorable home converted into cozy woodsy food wonderland. The clean blankets for snuggling into were a fabulous touch! No detail went unnoticed. If you are in Charlottesville and haven’t been you are sorely missing out on a truly unique dining experience.

Skip this place. You have to be your own server and bartender. For $26 you get five shrimp, a ball of rice, and some field greens. Shrimp was listed as “blackened” on the menu, but had not one bit of char, grill-marks, or anything even close to blackened. Super lame. Fail.

I was really surprised to find such great cajun food in Charlottesville. I cooked in New Orleans for 9 months while my wife finished at Tulane and this was just like many of the great small restaurants in New Orleans. Great peacemaker, shrimp poboy , the red beans and rice was great too.

Excellent southern fare at reasonable prices in a cozy setting. There is a bar at front, outdoor seating in the patio, and bar in the cozy tent in the back (heated in the winter) with space for games and larger group gatherings as well as a TV. Their po boys were a great value for price. Highly recommend the fried shrimp Po boy!
