Great authentic Mexican food at affordable prices. You can tell that the tortillas are hand made. Everything was fresh, hot, and delicious till the last. Salsa picante selection has something for everyone to enjoy. Great place for a breakfast on the go. We ordered to go. The location is in a quiet spot. A bit of a hidden spot for this gem of a place. The workers will recognize regulars.

The food here is almost always good and it comes out fast. We have learned it’s better to do to go. We went 3 times to try and go eat in person and each time we sat there for 15+ minutes and no one came to our table, not even to say they would be right with us or take a drink order. All 3 times we left after 20 mins of waiting. When we order to go food it’s fast and the girls working the register are really nice. So definitely try the food but I recommend ordering to go, we usually call ahead and by the time I get there the food is ready for pickup.

Great service. Owners are gracious and have caring customer service. Food is great. Haven’t had anything I don’t like. Daily lunch specials with a drink. Homemade tortillas. Reasonably priced menu items. The ONE good Mexican food restaurant in Kirby, with caring staff and hospitality

Gave me soup to go and it was in a spillable container and paper bag. Leaked through the bag on my way home and got all over the floor of my car. Get better packaging if you offer things to go and for delivery.

Went to La Cocina this morning and honestly was disappointed… Waitress passed by a couple times and didn’t pay attention to my glass needing more tea, the gentleman cleaning the tables did and told her as she was passing our table again. I made sure to thank him. She returned with a cup full of tea but the exact same squished lemon that was already in the cup. A new lemon slice would have been nice. I really don’t care that the old one was there, I just would have liked to add more lemon.

We had picadillo tacos which were very good according to my wife . She stated great flavor. I had carne guisada with cheese and bean and chorizo . Both were delicious . Staff greeted us immediately and made sure we had everything we needed. Great customer service and food . It’s one of our go to places now . here in Kirby .
