Picked this place randomly after hiking in the Tujunga area. I can see and taste good quality here. I got the short rib Benedict with a side salad instead of tots. Both were amazing. The meat was delicious and rich, as was the hollandaise sauce. I tried my friends tots – what?! So good and crispy, but still soft on the inside. Also, I’ll note that the employees here are really friendly and welcoming. I’d definitely go here again and I’ll be recommending to friends.

I occasionally stop in for brunch before or after a hike. As far as brunch goes this place is great, super solid. Biscuits and gravy are solid. Beer is reasonably priced. Cocktails are great. “Where there’s smoke there’s fire” is my favorite. Staff is A1! I don’t know any of them by name but I’ve never thought “oh I hope I don’t get THAT person” that’s a big reason I’ve come here on and off for the last few years. I bring a book and headphones and I enjoy a nice brunch outside. Sometimes there is live music, it’s a nice experience.

Went on Easter Sunday and we were seated pretty quickly inside. There was live music, which was a little loud for talking at times, but we didn’t mind, the musician was wonderful. The food was very good, not sure if worth the price, but the atmosphere made up for it. Overall a great experience for brunch, and would recommend.

So happy to have this corner cafe in Montrose. I’ve enjoyed dinners, drinks, lunch & breakfast here. It has been delicious every time. I recently brought my husband for breakfast & it’s his new favorite spot. I had the steak & eggs – the sauce on the steak was soooo good. The Cinnamon French Toast was well worth the carbs. The coffee was roast toasty perfect!

The service was horrible. It took over a half an hour to get a drink. The waiter forgot about us. We couldn’t find help to place our order when we finally did 20 minutes later, they told us that the kitchen was closed no warning, and I watch them serve another customer two minutes before we tried to order. They have a new manager there which I asked to speak to and he was horrible. He greeted us by saying what did we want and the kitchen was closed as if we were doing something wrong. It seem like he was trying to close early. It was still full inside the restaurant, and he was shutting off the lights in the back. This was at 9:45 on Saturday night which they all reiterated they close at 10 very rude service. Very rude staff. At their menu prices you’d expect to be treated better than this. I guess they’re counting on they don’t have much competition.

This is a restaurant with great atmosphere! Everyone makes you feel at home from the moment you walk in the door! They have great food, daily happy hour, and a wonderful Saturday and Sunday champagne brunch. If you’re looking for something really eclectic in the La Crescenta, Montrose, La Cañada area, Ocean View Grill and Bar is perfect for you! Also included in this great restaurant is the introduction of local talent and great jazz artists from around the southland. You should not miss the opportunity to visit this great spot!

Great local eatery. Staff is always super friendly, food is good and they’ve got wine specials on Wednesdays. Love their crab cakes! Be sure to double check hours though because they are closed on random week nights.
