I was recommended this place by a friend & it didn’t disappoint. I had blackened fish & shrimp tacos which were DELICIOUS, along with a fried beer batter fish taco. The beer batter taco could’ve been lightly fried, it was a very over cooked which had less meat in it. Overall, my experience was good a one. Their original salsa as well as the mango salsa that came w the tacos were delicious!

This was my first time eating at this intimate eatery. The location is tucked in a small strip mall off Severn Avenue in Metairie. The parking was a challenge as we decided to try the restuarant as everyone was getting off work. There were lots of families and couples eating and enjoying drinks. Although the tables are closely packed, the noise level was comfortable. Our waitress quickly took our order from a menu that included Lenten fish and shrimp tacos, flautas, burritos and other authentic Mexican dishes. The regular menu has a lot of choices and combinations to choose from. Dishes are moderately priced and portions are generous. We all took TO GO boxes home. After the check was paid staff did not act impatient as we lingered finishing our conversation. Taqueria Corona is obviously a place where the locals eat and enjoy each other’s company. I enjoyed the meal, the customer service, the family friendly atmosphere and the reasonable price range. I will definitely go back.

I stop in about once a month when I need my Mexican fix. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the food is consistently on point. The pulled pork taco is outstanding – smokey, sweet, and unique. The California burrito is the size of a small pillow but I’ve never shied away from the challenge. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

Great lunch spot… Very tasty, fresh ingredients and clean restaurant with good service. If you like authentic Mexican tacos come here. It’s not fancy…. just order a bunch of tacos and enjoy. Best I have had in a long time.

The food was delicious. Of the 3 tacos I ordered, the shrimp were the best. Not a huge fan of the chorizo, though. The ribeye used in the California Burrito and quesadilla was a hit as well, as the grilled flavor of the meat could be tasted even through the cheese.

I wanted to give NO STARS but unfortunately they don’t offer that option. I ordered two burritos a ribeye and shrimp, and they both had a HORRIBLE metallic taste. My husband and I were both DISGUSTED with the food. It was as if they didn’t CLEAN the FOOD or they didn’t CLEAN the GRILL before cooking the food. Either way I feel like the HEALTH DEPARTMENT should check this out, because people can get SICK. I can say one thing for sure, I will NEVER eat here again and I will NOT RECOMMEND my family or friends to this place… IT SHOULD REALLY BE NO STAR.

Taqueria Corona is the one and only place where I love to eat Mexican food. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love this place! The staff is friendly, the food is delicious and consistent each visit, and the music is a vibe. If you’re ever at the Taqueria, I highly recommend the California burrito-any meat of choice is great. The pico and queso are also a must! And if you have some extra room after dinner, you can’t go wrong with their flan or churros. 10/10 recommend!
