This place is near the fringe of the main drag through town. But that certainly does not mean it should be overlooked. Clean and comfortable indoor seating plus patio seating overlooking the water. Our server Anna was very friendly and attentive. Lots of great menu options. Food was served promptly and tasted great.

Great pizza! The owner was working and served us our pizza. As he handed us the plate, he stated a new one was coming right up because in his opinion the pizza was too bubbly (first pic). We did try both pies and they were both delicious! Though, he did know what he was talking about because the second one was slightly more delicious. We have to come back next time we’re visiting the area!

Fricano’s is the best pizza, partly because it’s unique. It’s the closest to authentic Italian pizza you’ll find. In Italy, they only serve one size and it’s meant for one person. Also, Italian pizza is always thin crust. But the flavor of Fricano’s pizza sets it apart. So glad they brought this iconic pizza to Manistee!

Fricano’s is a very cool place to eat. The location is great; it’s right on the river. The wife and kids liked their dinner. Mine was just okay. I think pizza is their specialty, so you won’t be disappointed if that’s what you are looking for. One disappointing fact was that there is no beer on tap.

On arriving at 12:30 looking for lunch we were very optimistic. As we were seated we were told they were out of all pasta dishes, ok. We then ordered drinks, they arrived and we were ready to order food only to be told they were now also out of all fish items. No pasta or fish dishes, that’s half the menu. Plus we were sitting feet from Lake Michigan and very much looking forward to some perch and walleye. The food that arrived was mainly cold and it would be generous to say was at best fast foot level. I wouldn’t normally leave a review for a lunch meal on vacation but this place is not particularly cheap, $25 for oven ready fries and frozen breaded shrimp. The plus side was that the server was very courteous and nice though.
