We love this museum and have been there many times in the past. We usually stayed in the cafe for lunch — since this is an interesting museum with a lot of hands on things that you can try.

Surprisingly creative and way more options than most museum restaurants, including multiple vegetarian options. Served cafeteria style and at prices you would expect in a museum (paying for the convenience) – $13 sandwiches and $7.50 slice of pizza, and not great, but not awful taste. Very friendly staff!

Pleasantly surprised by the good lunch choices available. We had the taco shell with chicken rice, and beans. It was very good, and filling. The view of the Oakland Bay and bridge was very enjoyable during our lunch.

Starving and wanted options that didn’t include “hamburger”. We got the Southwest Chicken Chili Verde, salad and sashimi. Chili was excellent, delicious and filling. Salad choices where marinated kale (OMG, so delicious!!), Thai noodle chicken (good, but least favourite) and melon and pistachios (TO DIE FOR). Filled an entire plate, excellent. Also got the sashimi, and not only was it wonderful, but the plating and accoutrements was so pleasing. 4 stars because expensive, though not unexpected, connected to the Exploratorium.

Chirashi bowl. Pretty good variety of toppings. Fish quality is ok. For a regular restaurant I would probably rate it 3 stir but for such option in exploratorium meal it’s rare so that earns extra star.

Stopped off here because of the view. Had a cold brewski, and enjoyed a few appetizers. Food was fresh and had some good flavor. Staff was friendly.

A bit on the pricey side (which is expected in SF), but I’ve watched lots of families with small children struggling to find “child approved” food selections. Yes, they have mac & cheese….but not a kid version. Same for the salads and tacos. Even the juice beverage options have kids and parents shaking their heads.

Great view out into the bay. Love the fish taco’s with a beer. My dinning companion had the steak taco’s and I will definitely be back to try the steak taco’s next time. If you plan to come here on a date make sure you call before hand.. this places gets jumping on the weekend and you might have a long wait if you don’t call ahead before hand.

Overpriced and not that great. $9 hot dog? Common! $5 fruit cup with 5 pieces of fruit, one of which is a cucumber? No wonder the place was mostly empty when we came in. It took me a minute to figure out what they even had on the menu.
