Located in the heart of old Sacramento, 2nd floor with an exciting view patio seating, it took a while to get seated. Fair menu to choose from. Affordable prices and large portions of food. The flavor is less than expected.

Would NOT recommend. This restaurant WAS a nice place but not anymore. They seated us (table for two) in about 20 minutes. Then no one came to wait on us for another 20 minutes! I had to call the waitress over. The drinks were about a 5 from 1-10. This restaurant is severely understaffed. For the fourth of July holiday weekend, it was at most 30% full. The table next to us sat with dirty dishes for almost 45 minutes. I ordered the carnitas plate. I may as well have been beef jerky. Yes! It was that dry! The chips had an awful smell like they’ve been using the same cooking oil for about 6 months now. Overall it very bad experience. Not recommended.

Okay so the beans and rice is alright, but the asada, guacamole, and the service was brought it over the top.

We almost didn’t go because of some negative reviews online but my husband and I are glad that we gave it a try! The place was nice, not overly decorated. Our server was attentive but not constantly on your back. Food was delicious and you get a hefty serving.

Date night at the Golden 1 to see Jo Koy!! Decided to have dinner at LaTerraza. We were able to get right in and get an awesome table on the patio. We ordered our drinks and food fairly quickly. We got the chips and salsa pretty fast, and then our food came, but we still didn’t even get any water or the drinks that we ordered. Our waiter was really busy, and it was difficult to get his attention. We were halfway through our meals before we got water. Yes, we had to ask someone else. When we did get his attention, he explained that the bar was really backed up. But he could have told us that much earlier. Anyway, when we did get our drinks, we were a little disappointed. Mine (Pom Margarita) was strong as heck, and my husband (Mojito) said his was not very good. I had ordered the chicken and avocado salad and was a bit disappointed. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, and the chicken was tasty enough, but the parmesan cheese was the sprinkle kind, not fresh, grated kind. Husband got the Verde Enchiladas, and although he ate it all because he was hungry but stayed that there wasn’t much flavor. If there had been any salt on our table, he would have used some. All in all, we were not impressed but love the patio anyway. I’m not worrying this place off, but maybe next time, just drinks and appetizers.

Overall had a nice meal at La Terraza but the reviews about the slow wait times are very true! We were there for nearly 2 hours by the end of what was supposed to be a fairly quick meal.

My daughter and I have tried all eateries in Old Town by far. This is a must. I even walked up to the second floor just to enjoy this great lunch special a pork quesadllla with rice and beans, however it’s the service that’s amazing,

The view was the best part! Ordered chicken flautas and the presentation was great but the chicken was extremely bland.

We tend to stay away from Old Sac. La Terraza is a good reason to go back. Great service even when the patio filled up in about 10 minutes with lots of people. The food was authentic and really good. Enchiladas Verdes and Camarones al mojo de Ajo.

Delicious Mexican food restaurant in Old Town Sacramento, upstairs. We had a large group of 12, and they were accommodating with plenty of room. All of the dishes were very good and plentiful. I would have rated 5 but the service was not great. Our waitstaff was nice, but our drinks didn’t arrive to the table until the food did, we had to ask multiple times for missing drinks and napkins before they were brought, and only half of the group received water. Room for improvement, but we will be back again.
