Only 4 stars because they were skimpy with the addictive white powdered seasoning on my food. They sprinkled very little portions on one area of the chicken. I could barely see it and/or taste it which was disappointing because that was my main reason for eating here. Otherwise, this place is a must try.

The service was friendly and definitely willing to answer all of my questions. Ordering thighs takes about 10+ minutes if you’re walking in seeing as they cook em fresh which is a plus. Food was hot, tasty, affordable and fresh! Will return to try different menu items.

I visited this place on a Sunday. The staff was really nice and helped me figure out what to try. I was totally in the mood for fried fish! I got the two piece fried whiting dinner. Nope! Either I just fry it better in my kitchen or I have a stronger taste for some real good, hard fried fish. It was average to me, you should taste it for yourself.

So we got fish and chicken combos. Quantity is good. 1 with trout and wings the sides were slaw and mac&cheese. The other was catfish and tenders with onion rings. Disappointed this particular location didn’t have Mambo sauce. The tenders onion rings, slaw and wings were really good. Catfish was fresh however not a fan of cornmeal breading. The young man who waited on us very friendly. This location was not eat in so had to take back to hotel.

We used to love the food at this location. The food is now bland and frequently over cooked (the livers). This location is only 4 minutes from my home. We have returned to the location on Ritchie Hwy near the DMV which is much further away because they still make the food with the seasonings we fell in love with. Very disappointed!

Really good chicken and fish , the seasoning on the chicken is great. The atmosphere is super casual nothing fancy at all. More of a take out place than an eat at place. Two people that aren’t super hungry can eat off of one combo there’s a lot of food in them. The prices for the sides are too high imo , I love sides and was really curious to try them all as they sounded great but they’re too expensive to just add on to a meal and quite a few meals only come with one side so that was disappointing. But otherwise a solid meal, could give KFC a run for their money if HipHop was a tad cheaper and had more locations outside the area.

I have tried this place 3 times now. And every time, my food all tastes the same. The same seasoning that they use for the fish, they use for the chicken, the hush puppies and the fries. And i swear they must use the same oil to fry everything in because all my god ends up tasting like fish.
