Food took extra long to cook and it wasn’t that busy. Noodle dish was not worth the price since only had 2 small helpings. The mississippi roll was really good. Veggie fried rice was good also.

Great sushi can be had in east-central Mississippi! I took my parents here to try sushi for the first time and the rolls here were as good as the ones we get at our favorite place back home. Will definitely visit when we come back.

Sushi was not what i ordered and when i ordered the Salmon Hibachi Dinner, i was unaware that it was covered in teriyaki and soy sauce, it does not say so on the menu, otherwise i would’ve asked for it without it but the manager argued with me that no where else has what they cook their food in. Which may be true in some cases but everywhere I’ve ever ordered salmon, the menu clearly states what it is cooked in, especially when its covered in something. After arguing that point with me she offered only 20% discount (on food i could not eat) and only $15 on a gift card for a future meal which doesn’t even cover a salmon hibachi dinner. Eventually she gave me a $25 gift card but i wont be dining there again. I would’ve been fine paying for the apps, drink, and sushi even though it was wrong since i took a few bites of it but paying for a meal i cant and didn’t eat at all? And arguing that its my fault for not requesting an omission of something not listed as ingredients on the menu? I left hungry and unsatisfied.

The food was good. You get a pretty healthy portion. The have a ton of menu options. The staff was friendly and very engaging. The strawberry margarita was really good. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu.

Not knowing where to go on a Chilly Saturday night, I decided to try out Umi’s in Columbus Mississippi. I love sushi but Being very picky I am always in search of the freshest and best. Well I wasn’t disappointed! I Sat down and was greeted with the most beautiful warm smile from an Asian waitress. She Guided me through the sushi menu and I decided on trying a mix of sushi and sashimi with Red Tuna, White tuna, salmon, surf clams, with a side of spicy mayo. After my first bite and looking up, I expected to see the ocean and harbor of fishing boats in my view because this sushi was so fresh! Each bite melted in my mouth and the touch of spicy mayo, a thin slice of ginger with a dab of wasabi, dipped in soy sauce highlighted each bite! Soooo GOOD! The night was finished with a cocktail And another beautiful smile from the waitress. Great food, fresh sushi and a wonderful family atmosphere. I’ll be back most definitely! FIVE ⭐️’s Cheers

The food was very good as was the service. Oddly, the menu was a poor photo static copy and was difficult to read. They need to invest some money in a proper menu please. The other odd thing is that although the restaurant serves both sushi and Hibachi Japanese food they have the service for each of those Foods separate within the restaurant itself so some tables are designated for people who intend to order the hibachi food and the other tables are designated for people who are having sushi. How odd that they should not just allow you to order from one menu or the other. I actually saw two patrons who had to insist to take a booth within the Hibachi section which was completely empty when the host tried to seat them in the sushi section which was what they intended to order but was a poor table. They need to straighten that out and let the whole restaurant be for sushi or hibachi food and allow the patrons to order from both menus regardless of what table they said at.

Always love this place. Very disappointing tonight. Service was terrible. Starkville roll didn’t look at all like the roll I always get. The manager was rude when I complained as well. Probably won’t be back. Very sad that this great restaurant is going down as most others are.

Haven’t ordered to go food since 2019 because it was so dry and disgusting. Finally decided to try it today and it was still disgusting and took 45+ mins. They should be ashamed of how dry and inedible their to go food is.
