Matsumoto Ramen House was one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to, let alone among the best Asian / Japanese food I’ve had. My brother and I went and were so surprised this masterclass was in little Sparta. It’s run by a Japanese sister duo and their families. The family dynamic shows in the decor (cute family pics!!!) and atmosphere (friendly and chatty)! I had Tonkotsu Black (complete with special black garlic oil, and the most popular international Ramen flavor), and my brother had Shoyu (the most popular Japanese flavor), a Japanese Sapporo beer. This was an amazing food experience I would highly recommend to anyone!!

Food was better than expected. The staff was great. Pricing was right where everything else is these days. It is order at the counter, be seated, and your food will be brought to you. The staff was still great about checking on us and bringing us water. I had the Kimchi and it was the perfect amount of spice. Can’t wait to come back and try the other dishes!

Yum this is way better than ramen from the store. The flavor tasted a little nutty in the tantanmen, which was a surprise. Gyoza was so good. They also bring some Hawa’ii with them.

The ramen is always amazing, the prices are great. I like the gyoza but it’s not my favorite spot for it in the area. The staff is amazing, the flavors are good, the spice is just right, the meat is tender. I alwasy crave this place. And they have new ramen flavors coming soon!

The ramen, the service, the atmosphere, everything is absolutely amazing. I always look forward to getting ramen at Matsumotos. I’m so glad that there’s a local ramen place near me. Insanely great! Best ramen I’ve ever had and I’ve tried ramen all over the states, this one so far is my favorite. I get the Tantanmen. Slightly spicy and has a tinge of sweetness in the creamy broth.

This is THE place to eat in Sparta! Stopped in for dinner while bike-camping on the Elroy-Sparta Trail. Definitely worth the 2-ish mile ride from the DNR campground. It was an unexpected delight (and a needed break from the typical bar-fare in the area) to get such excellent ramen in Sparta. With 2 vegetarians and 2 meat-eaters in the group there was something for everyone.

rAmen. . So good. Needs lots of chili oil if you like it spicy but they have plenty. Very happy to have a place like this in Sparta. I’d eat ramen everyday if I could! So far I’ve tried everything on thr menu and it’s all good!
