It’s a decent place to eat. Was making a quick stop here in Baton Rouge and found this place. The all you can eat “buffet” had more of a taqueria vibe and mood setting in my opinion. The food selection is low and so was the sushi. Their main focus is their hibachi. You select your meats and veggie and leave your plate there so they could cook it up for you and deliver it to you. The waiters and waitresses were all very nice and friendly. Although their food selection was low, they all tasted great and looked great. They present their food well with a more aesthetic presentation. The sushi is all rolled on the spot unlike most ‘all you can eats’. I went in during lunch and it was at $12.99 a person. Overall I believe it’s a great hangout place with good food. I enjoyed it.

It’s so peaceful and the food is really high quality. I miss the buffet, but I deeply appreciate that they changed their business model for COVID to keep everyone safe. Mask required.

My meal of seaweed salad and tempura vegetables was tasty, especially the salad! The tempura was a bit bland, but delightfully crisp and fresh. The dipping sauce helped with the flavor. The dining areas are very clean and the wait staff I interacted with were personable, polite, and professional. The alcoholic beverages were nicely priced, so this is an excellent place to have wine or beer. The menu accommodates various palates and I didn’t get to sample much because my visit was a quick lunch. I will visit again because there’s decent, affordable food and drinks, in a clean environment.

For a reasonably priced sushi buffet the quality is good as is the selection. I usually eat lunch there but understand the dinner selection is different and perhaps a tad more upscale, if that word applies in this situation.

Decent as far as buffet-sushi goes. It’s good to satisfy a sushi craving, but is by no means high quality! They do have some cooked food and custom hibachi. This is a good place to grab a quick bite and head back to LSU. Unless you plan on filling up several plates to get your money’s worth at the buffet, I would recommend the take-out option. They charge for take-out by weight, but you can nearly fill the to-go box and still pay less than dine-in price.

This place is complete and utter trash! I was horribly sick for an entire day after eating here. The hibachi is bland, completely void of any flavor, and the sushi is not the freshest. There was literally NOTHING that I liked about this buffet. The staff was not friendly at all! I hate that I wasted my money on this place. I will NEVER return! This place doesn’t deserve any stars but I had to assign at least one star to complete a review! Trash!

The ratings for this place doesn’t reflect the quality of it at all. Don’t expect much quality from a buffet style dining place with this kind of pricing. The sushi wasn’t fresh. The seaweed for the temaki rolls wasn’t crisp; it was hard to chew off. I found the flavor of the food from the hibachi section too overpowering of soy sauce. The little cakes and cream puffs were distasteful. The only thing I found bearable was the fruit section. At least the fruit was decent.

Okay I would give ya’ll 5 stars because I love you but ever sense the new name and owners happened you started putting cucumber in the sushi as a filler. Stop. It is gross, unnecessary, and it ruins it. I can’t even eat the sushi rolls anymore cause they are just cucumber rolls.

This was my first time going to Kaminari and I loved my experience. The servers here are awesome and extremely polite. The sushi was awesome, and they have a hibachi bar which is buffet style, which I thought was really cool. The price for the buffet was reasonable. I’ll be going back for sure.

Probably my favorite place to eat. The lunch buffet meal is what I normally do, as it is cheaper than the dinner option. There is a good selection of sushi (which is expanded for dinner). I recommend the Amazing Roll. The hibachi is very good – ask the chef to make yours a little spicy! They’ll know what you mean. Don’t forget to grab an ice cream near the back before you go!
