Have seen several TV commercials about this place and figured why not. Made 6:00pm Friday night reservations and arrived to a nearly empty restaurant… warning ⚠️! Sat right away and were greeted by O’Brien our wonderful server who took excellent care of us all during our meal. Ordered Unsweetened Tea and Bill his Vodka Rocks Twist both came quickly and 5 ⭐. We decided on appetizers, me the Mussels at $20 Bill the Gumbo at $8 and here began an issue of food temperature with both coming out warm… not good so while my mussels we very good it loses bit so 4 1/2 ⭐. Bills Gumbo was also cool with a skin on top of the gravey… not enticing so 3 ⭐. For Dinner I ordered the much talked about and advertised Crab Cakes, Garlic mashed potatoes and squash $42. Cakes warm and good, mashed little to no Garlic , great gravy and the Squash warm to cool. Price should be $24 at best 4 ⭐. Bill ordered the Seafood Trio $42, one Crab Cake, three small scallops and three small shrimp, garlic mashed and mix vegetable and same great gravy. Same issues with over priced and warm food so 3 1/2 ⭐. Dinner for two without tip was $141.85 a rather expensive meal for two. We voiced our concerns to O’Brien and hope it makes it’s way up the food chain as even the best commercials and snappy shows may not keep people coming back. The key to having a successful restaurant is providing quality food at a reasonable price…Crab Cake needs to adhere to that policy or it may not be around much longer.

The buffet is not worth 37$ maybe 25 if that. Nice variety of food but it was all cold. Not worth the money spent. They did not have many of the advertised things online (there was no prime rib, or jambalaya shrimp taste like plastic) 23$ appetizer is the same crab cake listed on the next page for 14$ (under Maryland crab cake) but I was charged 23$. Server argued me down about they price after explaining to me they are the same things and same size. For this tiny crab cake they should be ashamed. Snow crabs are over cooked instead of popping like fresh orange crabs they are brown and bend instead of breaking. They water down the waffles they taste like rubber and are chewy. Seriously go else where.

Can’t rave enough about the The ORIGINAL Crabcake Factory in Jacksonville Beach. Pleasant atmosphere and staff were welcoming and very professional. The chef’s that prepared our meal I give them two thumbs up for presentation is everything. The food which was severed fresh and hot was outstanding and simply delicious!

I went for the Sunday Brunch Buffet and I was disappointed to find that the food was not very good. There were not many options, and the seafood that was available was overcooked and bland. The best thing was the shrimp and grits. They had both baked and fried fish but they was over cooked. They had 2 different types of rice and they were both bland. There are no crab cakes on the buffet any longer. They had mussels which had almost no seasoning. They did have an omelet station, a bowl of salad, french fries, chicken fingers, and desert. I ended up buying a crab cake to take home which was very good. The unlimited mimosas were also a nice touch. Be aware that if you go for the brunch you cannot order from the menu! They also automatically add an 18% tip to the bill also.

Tried the Sunday buffet for $36.99 + 18% gratuity. Worst buffet I have ever tried and certainly NOT worth the price! Shrimp and grits … no shrimp. Jambalaya … just rice. Baked fish and chicken … looked and tasted like it had been cooked and then microwaved … it was that tough! The crab legs had been frozen so were difficult to pull out of the legs. And, why bay seasoning? The boiled shrimp were really good as were the mussels. Then the service? Can you say WHAT service? The bar was out of the liquors we asked for. Why? Do not recommend the buffet. Can’t comment if you want to order off the menu. That wasn’t available. This is certainly not the Crabcake Factory that I went to several years ago!
