GET…. hear me… GET the crab cakes as an appetizer…. mouth is craving one or 10 now, just writing this. Great steaks and salmon, the waiter was very old school-ish. The rolls were amazing. Overall, it was a great little place to eat. Inside is not what you are thinking from the outside view.

Nothing was overly wrong, the food was okay but not necessarily worth the price charged. The wait staff was very attentive but at the same time it felt like they didn’t want us to hang around after finishing. It was an interesting experience for teenager to see a different interpretation of steakhouse, as she was expecting something more like one of the bigger chain steakhouses.

My husband and I and two friends had dinner last night at the Fireside Chophouse in Williamsburg. We were seated at a lovely table and greeted by our waiter, Jamar. Within minutes, minutes, Jamar took our drink orders and our drinks came quickly and our bottle of wine was very good. Hot rolls and butter came right out, as did our appetizers.

I have been here several times since it is close to the hotel where I stay when I travel to Williamsburg for work. On this visit, as those in the past, the food was very good! The service has always been great. The only thing about the atmosphere is I was one of only a handful of guests in the restaurant. I’m just amazed that when the food and service is so good, the place is so slow! Maybe word just has to get around so other people know about this hidden gem!

Try for yourself! So glad we dismissed the reviews. No wait on a Sunday night and food was prompt. The small steak is 10oz and that price is a great deal and tasty! Everyone enjoyed their dinner and cheesecake dessert. My daughter accidentally spilled her water all over the table and the waitress was prompt and so polite, consoling her with a heart of gold. What a lovely quiet little place for dinner.

One of the best restaurants I have been to in Williamsburg!!! The food came out hot and pretty quickly; and contrary to what has been written in a previous review, you could tell the mashed potatoes were made form scratch and NOT instant. I am glad and sad that it does not get the business most of the other restaurants receive. Glad because were went in during dinnertime and did not have to wait for a table; and sad, because it is a really great restaurant.

Extremely baby-friendly. We were a little worried about bringing in our tired 10-month-old but they assured us it would be fine. They brought out the nicest high chair I have seen in a restaurant. They brought the food out quickly and it was very good. Highly attentive and considerate staff all around.

Nice place. We weren’t super hungry so we had a cheeseburger and steak sandwich. They were fine. Since their go to food is steaks and chops we can’t comment. It was okay for sandwiches but the five guys down the street might have been a better choice for burgers.
