My first time at Kelly’s and felt welcomed right away. The bartender Hailey was very friendly and attentive. I had the steak sandwich which was what Hailey highly recommended and it was very tasty. There was also trivia going on which everyone in the bar participated in which I found awesome. Being from Wisconsin this reminded me of most bars back home. I highly recommend this bar and I might become a regular.

If I could give them a 15, I would! We are always in search of great food and drinks whether it be high end or dive. We drove from Ankeny… This is now our favorite dive bar! Let me start by saying the service was phenomenal the bartender, sweet, young, intelligent, attractive, great server of drinks great conversation a beautiful smile a beautiful soul.. the food amazing! Everything we had was perfection! The drinks were made strong. The bartender was so attentive and was asking us if we needed anything or how we liked our food. The cook came out and asked us how we liked everything, we loved everything.! This place needs to be on diners, dives and whatever it’s called, it’s effing amazing! Please go and tip really well! They deserve it!!

Awesome place, me and my wife got recommended to come her by a local and it did not disappoint. The 1Lb sausage sandwich was the best sausage sandwich I’ve ever had. Nothing back home can even compare to it. Gage was an awesome bartender made us laugh and feel welcome like we were regulars. We will definitely be coming back again any time we are in Des Moines.

Honestly, if I could’ve left this place 1000 stars I would’ve! & I would also write a review every day if I could! They’re so nice! Amazing food from a dive bar you can’t find anywhere else! Also met the owner & what a gem kid friendly, live music, amazing food, & wonderful staff! Please go and put this place as a secret spot! Thank y’all so much and me and my little family will be back!

I’d like to give this place more of a 3.75. I went with a friend who was on a quest for the perfect tenderloin. It had to be thick & have a perfectly proportioned amount of breading to meat. She ordered the tenderloin with onion rings.

Wish I lived closer! I ordered dinner for a friend who lives nearby. The food was fantastic! I had Italian Sausage pizza with banana peppers. It was delicious, they did not go light on the toppings and the crust was cracker crispy, thin! The homemade onion rings were good too. All of the staff was friendly. It reminded me of Cheers where everyone joins in conversation. It would be my favorite little “dive” bar in the area. The patio out back is great for late afternoons after work or anytime the weather’s nice and you just want to hang out with friends have a few beers and good food. Lots of parking in lot across the street.

Went in for lunch on a Wednesday and was extremely surprised that how fast and good and what a great bunch of people gather there. I will definitely be going back on future lunch breaks! They have specials different everyday of the week and they even gave me a punch card so when I get it all punched out I get, I think, a free lunch… which is nice.
