Joy of Tokyo – Augusta Street takes the traditional hibachi (and teriyaki) experiences and makes it faster. Still cooked to order but via counter service. The traditional cuisine of Japan (Japanese: washoku) is based on rice with miso soup and other dishes; there is an emphasis on seasonal ingredients. Side dishes often consist of pickled vegetables, and vegetables cooked in broth. Seafood is common, often grilled, but also served raw as sashimi or in sushi. Seafood and vegetables are also deep-fried in a light batter, as tempura. Japan also has many simmered dishes. Delicious, good food is a trademark of Japan. Also highly rated, In 2011, Japan overtook France to become the country with the most 3-starred Michelin restaurants; as of 2018

None of my special requests were done like taking the cream cheese out of the roll, adding an ingredient on another. I even asked them to double check to make sure the order was right. I wasn’t impressed with the food at all. For same money, I’d rather go to a legit sushi place like Sushi Asa.

We are from Myrtle Beach and are down visiting family. We decided to have Japanese hibachi so we looked online and found this place. I’m soo glad we did because it was very good! There is a lady named Crystal that works here and she definitely went out of her way for us! We really enjoyed the food and next time we are in town we will definitely come back! great job Crystal‼️‼️

The food and service is not what it used to be. The tables were very sticky. A piece of my chicken was still raw.

My husband could smell the tea from how old it was (but sometimes that just happens. We wrote it off.) After we got our food, I began to eat and noticed my chicken was a little soft but not raw, but my husband immediately spit his out and said a piece

As good as you’ll get for Japanese cuisine as far as I’ve had. Only thing missing is flipping shrimp in my daughter’s mouth and catching an egg on his hat.

I spent $8.99 on the salmon hibachi fried rice. I didn’t regret it one bit. Totally amazing food and totally worth every penny. A definitely must try. Ask for spicy rice if you prefer spicy food.
