Attended the comedy show here. Bartenders were super friendly and the overall atmosphere was very welcoming! Overall, loved it. 🙂

Decent pizza, decent, prices, limited seating, limited staff. Good variety of thin crust pizzas, and large drink menu. Bathrooms could use a good cleaning and updating. No place to park other than 3 blocks away at a parking ramp. Probably won’t go back again but happy I at least tried the place. See photos of pizzas we ordered.

Quiet Friday night. Three of us. Lots of wood. Forgettable music. Server woke up when we chatted with him as we left but was otherwise not showing much enthusiasm. Roasted cauliflower was outstanding. House salads were too big and lacked dark greens. Five- (four?)-cheese pizza was crisp and tasty. Small was a perfect size. Maybe it would be better with three cheeses so that each one is identifiable. Not a pizza for anyone who wants a chewy crust.

I saw that Sanctuary had a pasta special on Monday evenings, and it was just the thing – I ordered the Vodka Sauce Shrimp and a Big Grove Beer – also on special. Both tasty. Friendly service in a downtown Iowa City iconic pub. All good!

Cozy and intimate bar. This place is high on the list of Iowa City locals. It’s easy to feel welcome here, food is great, ambience is great and the menu is a great reflection of what this restaurant embodies, simplicity. Only down side, they don’t saute the jalapenos for the pizza. Minor gripe.

A great spot I recently checked out! Came for the food and tried the vodka shrimp pasta and margarita pizza and can’t stop thinking about it! Looks like a great place to grab a drink with friends as well with lots of cocktail options.

Cozy atmosphere. I can’t speak to the drink selection, but the small menu was varied. Sadly, the pot pie and shepherd’s pie were bland and the tiki masala pizza was so spicy you couldn’t taste anything but the heat. Still, it is a classic venue for live music.

Got a giftcard here 4 weeks ago. Went in to use it today and apparently the ownership changed 2 weeks ago and they will not accept a gift card that is literally 4 weeks old. Literally paid for nothing. I will not be returning and suggest anyone who liked this place before not to either as they changed their entire menu. Most ridiculous experience I have ever had with a restaurant. In addition the old quality food we used to expect from this place is gone, replaced with cheap bread and jacked up prices. Picture for reference. 12$ sandwich supposedly.

Should have read the other reviews. The noodles of the fettuccini weren’t done all the way. My husband was disappointed in his sandwich. Put in an order for an appetizer we never got (and luckily weren’t charged for). The only good thing was they took the pasta off the ticket.
