Note: you need to make a reservation to eat here, it’s always busy. The food was incredible! The service was great as well. They help you quickly and finished dishes get taken quicker than any other restaurant I’ve been to. The lighting is low which is great. They have all different types of seating. I’ve labeled all of my pictures with the names of the dish. I have to say the Pork Belly Skewer was incredible!! We will be coming back ☺️

My husband and I can’t be happier. Went to celebrate my birthday. From the host to server to sushi chef, everyone is amazing. The food is fabulous. We went on Saturday and they were busy but the service and the food is top notch. We did not feel rushed. Everyone very knowledgeable about the menu like the back to their hands. They went above and beyond to make sure I feel special. Definitely come back and pay any price for this type of service and quality food.

I wanted to love this place because the service, ambience, and overall aesthetics were beautiful. Japanese food is my favorite, so I’m always on the lookout for good (and authentic) restaurants. However, I was just massively let down by the food. I was expecting flavor bombs from each dish, but sadly the execution just fell short. I would have to commend them on the chicken tsukune bao- the sauce was nostalgic! Other than that, all the other dishes needed a bit more umph.

So me and partner came here for the first time a week ago and didn’t have a good experience. The vibe and the ambience is nice I just say but everything else was bad. The food is overpriced, tasted bland and our server was forceful and aggressive. We clearly told our server about our shellfish allergy and he kept recommending items that came in contact with shellfish. My partner actually developed hives 45 mins after we left this establishment, which clearly shows that no precautions or actions were taken with our meals. We ordered more than 6 items with drinks, and we left with empty stomachs and extremely disappointed. Even the sushi looked good but had very little flavor. We frequent high end restaurants all the time and usually leave feeling pretty happy and satisfied, but this place was a completely different story !

My husband and I went here for my birthday and it was breath taking! All plates are shareable unless eating single nigiri or sashimi. I was impressed with how fresh everything was! The flavour combinations were out of this world to the point I even stated the street corn sauce should be made into an ice cream. Our waiter pretty much told us what to pick and he did not steer us wrong! We each chose a cocktail and started with the beef tataki – which is always a winner. We then had the Japanese street corn which is the best street corn I’ve ever tasted. We decided on a Spanish octopus skewer to share – the biggest upset of the night which is saying a lot because it was delicious! I can’t find the name of our nigiri but it had the perfect amount of smokiness – somehow NOT overpowering the beauty of the dish. Just stunning. We then finished with two rolls of sushi: The TigerLily and The Mangekyou. Again, the fish was so fresh, light and powerfully tasty! We plan to go back with a group of friends! A spot you won’t want to miss!

Overall amazing food and atmosphere. Definitely try their Chicken Tsukune Bao buns and Harami Wagyu beef skewers! Great sushi as well and the otoro fatty tuna sashimi was amazing! Overall a pricy place but absolutely worth it! Would recommend to anyone! Definitely a local gem.

I’m so sad to write this review…. I eat a LOT of sushi and was excited to have another Ferndale option. We went on the first warm evening of the year and decided to sit in the patio. Our service was slow, even though our server was training someone (usually that means better than usual service!). The cocktails, beer, wine, and sake were very overpriced, as was the food, which was lackluster to say the least. The 2 stars are for the absolutely beautiful decor. We won’t be back.

Exceptional, well designed dishes, beautiful atmosphere, some of the best mocktails I’ve had in Ferndale and great service. I would suggest making a reservation in advance, but this place is definitely worth it. We tried 7 dishes total and loved all of them. The wagyu beef tataki, karai tuna roll, and katsu curry were absolutely stellar.

Fantastic experience. Arrived without a reservation and was able to get in which was wonderful. We had Michael as our server and he was the most fantastic server. He explained the entire menu, slowly, giving some personal advice to make sure we knew all about our options. We had Chicken Bao buns and Street Corn as apps, Sushi and Katsu Curry as mains with a couple of drinks. Thanks for a great time.

My wife and I really enjoyed coming here. The atmosphere and decor were spot on. Bartenders were very attentive and skilled in their mixology. The drinks were top-tier. We tried Three Dots and a Dash, Pain Killer, Forbidden Fruit, Magnum PI, Journey to a Dream, and Cancun Disco. All were delicious, but Cancun Disco was the star for me. We snacked on coconut shrimp and crab rangoons, which were excellent as well. We will be back for sure.
