Love the sandwiches and wraps. Got the crab salad wrap today, and it was bomb. I like that they have treats and drinks to shop and look at while you’re waiting. Lots of premade desserts, salads, dips, local beers. Not to mention the soda machine is great ha. You can always expect quality stuff.

You can be the only one in here with 8 staff members in the back (twiddling their thumbs) and still wait 15-30 minutes for a sandwich. Loyal fans will always come back, but I think most people on a time crunch are going to go over to Jimmy John’s. I’ve been eating Taste since I was a kid and it used to be so good. Prices have gone up, portions are not the same, and quality has diminished. Have had better luck at Hiltop and Greenbrier locations, this location sucks. Also, if you come right before closing, avoid any sandwiches with avocado because it will be completely brown from being cut up hours earlier.

First time in Norkfolk. My husband came across this place and I met him here for lunch. So delicious. So fresh! Love the atmosphere and the vibe. Not sure what he ordered but it was divine. Definitely recommend.

So I’d ordered the Princess Anne sammie which I didn’t know was going to be the size of a big crouton with veggies and sauce. It was good, but very small. If you’ve got the time and money to wait a long time for your sammie, this is the place for. My friends had much bigger sammies. Crazy! And I believe this is where Blockbuster used to be.

I used to believe that Taste was this great lunch alternative, but not so much now. The last couple of times, the bread has been cut on weird angles or both times they were at the end of the loaf, but I had mostly hard crust that’s hard to bite into. The bigger issue is their trendy named dressing that was just bland tasting & when you have avacados on the sandwich you better have something with pop or a flavor rush, instead you have this bland, wet mush. Maybe it’s just my sandwich choice, not sure, but not impressed lately… Sorry.

They’re lucky that people come there to buy their products. They certainly don’t come there for customer service. The girl at the register barely acknowledged my presence. She rang up my order and promptly left the counter. I had my own, therefore I was left to bag my own items, extremely rude.

I generally like their food because it’s different than what you can find elsewhere, but today I spent $18 on a salad and off-brand soda with no ice (the machine was out). They ask for a tip when they ring you up despite not actually waiting on you. And I was very surprised that they don’t offer recycling bins. All our plastic cups, cutlery, etc., went in the trash. There was also no parking, apparently due to re-paving. We had to park in another venue’s lot and cross our fingers that we wouldn’t get towed. Just not impressive for the cost.

Lived here back in 2012 and loved the taste. They have changed locations since back then they were on Hampton Blvd but always gave great service. Order online yesterday two back to back orders for two sandwiches. Arrived one customer in the restaurant with exception to young ladies selling Girl Scout cookies. It had been about 10 to 15 min after we placed the second order. Yet with 4 maybe 5 employees on staff they couldn’t make two sandwiches correctly. The young lady at the register was nice. She ask a guy in the back about the two orders, he responded, “yes I’m working on it and it’s not ready yet.” I waited approximately 3 more minutes get home with my sandwiches. My husbands is correct (1st order) mine was not (2nd order) I did the make your own. I had a cold hard brioche bun with, 1 piece cheddar cheese folded into 1/4, lettuce, tomato, pickles, double bacon, and CHICKEN BREAST plain as day on receipt. I get home no CHICKEN BREAST! Cold chewy bacon, hard bread, etc etc. I called the restaurant took a min to find the number as you can’t push call from the google search page. So found it on their website, call I’m blessed to listen to the funeral music, someone picks up but then puts phone back on funeral music for a second round, and then a automated recording says, “ sorry leave a message.” Never received a call back, but I didn’t think they would. Anyways I guess they grew their business in the 11years since we lived here, but they lost there customer service.

The food is consistently of good quality and the service is generally, though not always, fairly quick. That said, we did spend 7 minutes waiting behind one customer taste testing soups before someone could take our order. It was a little frustrating, but generally the exception.

Taste has some really great tasting sandwiches. They’re unique and fresh. And the Taste team member that took our order was very polite and patient even with the ongoing crowd. So my only warning is if you’re in a hurry during lunchtime it does get quite busy. We ended up waiting about 40 mins before our sandwiches were brought out.
