The first time I came into Johnny’s, I was looking to grab a beer and a burger. But they only had a burger. Now they have a beer and wine license. Now they have a solid burger and solid collection of beer on tap (Stella, 805, Lagunitas, pacifico, to name a few), wine (cabernet, merlot, chardonnay) excellent 4.5 out of five rating for the burgers and fries.

The Chilaquiles are a must try, every ingredient was fresh. Beans were so good! This little gem was recommended by a family member and we are so happy we tried it. If you wake up after a night of overindulging their breakfast is a guaranteed hangover cure too! Their American style breakfast is delicious as well, everything here is homemade. Also, friendly and welcoming service

Ordered blueberry pancakes full stack. Big portions with plenty of blueberries. You will be stuffed. Came with a blueberry sauce on the side which I didn’t use. I paired it with coffee and it was fantastic. Would eat here again.

We meet here for breakfast regularly. It’s an easy and comfortable spot right on El Camino. The chilequiles are my favorite! Good portions and a very friendly staff.

Great place for breakfast, lunch, atmosphere is great, waiters are genuinely friendly and food is just a home run for this little place, might look small from the outside but its pretty spacious inside. There’s parking on the street and parking lot behind the restaurant. They have a bar area if you’re having food by yourself.Try the teriyaki steak breakfast, thank me later.

Best breakfast on the Peninsula. We’ve been going to NiNi’s for 20+ years and were devastated when they closed. Johnny’s has definitely picked up the mantle as the best breakfast on the peninsula. Plus they have a fryer and make a great chicken fried steak from scratch, no frozen streak patties here. My favorite is the potatoes. Made just like my mom did.

For those who remember Nini’s in San Mateo, this is the restaurant founded by their chef. You can really tell in the omelettes – they’re very much the same. Considering that Nini’s was the gold standard for big filling omelettes, that’s a great thing. The selection isn’t quite the same, and there’s no outdoor seating so I’ve only been eating breakfast there to-go, but I’m still very glad to be able to get great omelettes again.
