Look at this dismal example of hainanese chicken “rice” service is so bad you order using a tablet that looks like it hasnt been wiped all day, not only that they do not take cash, big problem if you maxed out loosing… dont let the hanging chickens in front fool you. For a Singapore based group of food places, they serve you with a flimsy fork and knife, no chopsticks, and you get what looks like chicken flopped into a paper plate, and rice which is just steamed. There’s no hainanese chicken rice here people, our ancestors are turning in our graves… oh and $10 parking…

I read about this restaurant online. Was really excited to try their chicken dish. We’ve order this dish many times in Shanghai, Singapore and Malaysia. I was quite taken back to see hanging roasted chicken instead of poached at the food stall, but decided to try anyways. I first tried it without sauce. It tasted like a bad and dried out version of the rotisserie chicken from Costco. The hot and the ginger/scallion sauces helped hydrate the chicken but all you can taste was what it was dipped in. The vinegar sauce tasted foul, tasted like they used too much molasses. The rice was dry and almost crunchy. Maybe I got a bad batch? Definitely would not recommend.

As a Singaporean who grew up with chicken rice / Boon Tong Kee.. this is a disappointment hence the 1 star. This is damaging to the BTK brand someone better come wake up and whip it back to standard. There is no QC.

Read the reviews online and still wanted to give it a shot but overall it’s mediocre at best. Portion is actually pretty generous but chicken was not that flavourful, rice was okay. It’s 15$ so it’s not like im expecting fine dining. Maybe it’s good for kids to share since it’s pretty basic food

Tried the roasted chicken dish. It was OK. The rice is really the best thing here, very tasty. I don’t think you can order just the rice though.

being a Singaporean, the chicken rice was only subpar in my opinion. the Chicken texture and taste is good but it is ice cold! We never have ice cold chicken on chicken rice in Singapore. it is a disgrace for such a National dish in Singapore. Rice is cook ok. flavour is not bad… CHillie is OK but not spicy enough! For cried out loud I do not remember the taste of Boon tong Kee is so much different from the SIngapore one and US.. taste and everythingshould be consistent and not change the taste ! people come for the real deal! not the water down version!

Having lived in Singapore in the past, I was excited to try the famous Singaporean hawker stall Boon Tong Kee, right inside Resort World Las Vegas. Unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. First off, rice was mushy and didn’t really have the fragrance that made chicken rice special……..then the chicken tasted bland and the breast meat was a little tough to chew. The grated ginger sauce was okay, but the soy sauce didn’t taste right at all, and the sambal chili lacked spice and flavors. I realize I may be a little harsh, as I am comparing to the REAL deal in Singapore, especially when they are using the name of a legendary hawker!
