Food is very good not great. The service was wonderful and the cooking done like a show was nice however they originally forgot my order and gave away all the rice before they realized. My 97 year old aunt had never done hibachi and she was just so interested in watching the chef. The hibachi was better than my sushi items however my family’s chirachi looked really good. Food is more 4.5 but I just couldn’t justify a 5. We sat with a nice family of 4 and we were 7 people. I enjoyed it and would suggest it

If you are ever in Goldsboro, you have got to check out this gem of a Japanese Steakhouse!!! My wife and family stopped here after the air show, and after having not eaten all day, this place was right up our alley! The food, service, and atmosphere was absolutely fantastic!!! Our waitress, Alex met our every need in terms of service, manners, and hospitality!!! Great place to dine!!!

I’m ready to give my Wafu review….IT WAS PERFECT!!! The food was absolutely delicious!!!!! Our Chef was extremely talented!!!! The food of course was hot and fresh, I even ate the mushrooms and normally I remove mushrooms with a fine tooth comb (I forgot to ask for no mushrooms but I’m dang glad I didn’t!!!) My husband and I did the Samurai meal and a family member did cheese wontons as a side. It was absolutely perfect!! I’ve never had Saki sprayed in my mouth before but dang if I don’t love it!! Staff members were incredibly kind and polite, very well mannered. It was clean inside, even the bathroom. I met a few staff members who knew me from this group too!!! It was just a fantastic experience through and through. I won’t even say a single thing about the price, the meal and the experience was worth every single penny and more!!!! At the end, they even gave me my own Wafu shirt. I actually cried. I was so honored. It was perfect start to finish, we’re fans for life!! Even the ladies we sat with at the table were a TOTAL joy to eat dinner with!! I have attached some photos, there was a birthday party with kids at the other table so to protect their privacy I edited the photos to blot them out. I don’t have a photo of my finished meal because by the time the Chef was finished, I was too.

We went in tonight for the first time since they opened. There was a good amount of people waiting to be seated, so we got added to their wait list, and within 8 minutes, we were seated. Alex was our waiter and even if the food wasn’t great she absolutely made our whole experience. She took our drink order, came back for our food order, brought us everything in a timely manner and was absolutely a cheerful delight. Me and my husband got the samurai (steak chicken and shrimp) hibachi dinner and we also got one volcano roll and one angry dragon roll. To say the food was great is an understatement. I’m usually hesitant getting shrimp or sushi from a place that far from the coast because I’m from the coast and can tell the difference in fresh seafood/fish and frozen and theirs were definitely fresh and absolutely delicious. We spent 150 dollars on our entire meal and tip and I will absolutely go back. Alex was the cherry that topped the cake we let her know we appreciated her caring and chipper attitude and she thanked me and gave us a hug when we told her we will come back and will definitely ask to sit in her section even if we have to wait. Great food, great staff and great atmosphere. Recommend 100%.

Wonderful ambiance and customer service! The presentation was beautiful! White peach sake was delicious and refreshing. They have an extensive drink menu in addition to the food. Sushi was perfection! I’ve had the hibachi food, udon, and lo mein. It’s amazing as well. Now I’m going to work myself around the entire menu!

A true gem for Goldsboro. We arrived around 1:30 PM on a Saturday and found a packed parking lot and several parties just inside the door. They quickly got through the line, seating for sushi side of the house (non hibachi) was almost immediate! Watching the hibachi crowd we saw a table with a reservation seated in less than 5 minutes. Service was quick and we had our drinks within minutes of being seated and had to ask for another minute to decide they were so prompt. We settled on the tuna tartare (get this… just get it) a sampling of sashimi, and one of the other sea critter offerings. The tuna tartare appetizer was out quick and amazing! (See pic). The ONLY complaint (which I guess we are splitting hairs here at open for only a week) was our sashimi and assorted sea critters came out before we were halfway through with the tartare. This is a nuance that servers and house alike will nail down in time and can’t even truly complain! Every bit of the food was great, our server was excellent and attentive (our waters were filled within minutes of emptying) and the atmosphere was great. The age old adage is true, you get what you pay for. Try the surf clam sashimi!
