I enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was good. The chicken was good, too. But the salad and sides were sad in all honesty. They could really raise the bar by serving fresh green beans, for instance. If you were paying for food alone, it would be overpriced. HollyHock really shines with its family style dining. This place seems best fit for larger parties. I would give this place 3.5 stars if possible.

Came here to celebrate my cousin’s 65th wedding anniversary! The party was from 1:30-4:30pm on a Sunday afternoon. Our server was Bryce and he did an excellent job. We loved the vinegar oil dressing, beets, and biscuits as the first course. Then came the corn, green beans, mashed potatoes and milk gravy! The fried chicken was served next and it was beautiful! Everyone ate all they could!

Absolutely love this place!!!!!!! This is like grandma cooking some home cooked grub for you! Chicken is amazing. It is all family style…. and I believe they were free refills on the sides if you wanted. A very unique experience and atmosphere. Highly Recommend it.

Our waitress was excellent!! Super friendly and attentive. I liked how our food was served with the salad and biscuits first, then our entree with a generous amount of sides, and the ice cream is good. The apple butter is also delicious. Only downside was some of the decor is faded/chipped and our chicken was slightly dry, but the skin was still crispy and delicious.

Great place to gather and never disappoints if you love fried chicken! Family style servings you pass just like at home! Plenty of food, delicious, fluffy biscuits, apple butter, salad & ice cream sundae dessert! Lots of food for the price! As with other restaurants, they need more servers, but definitely worth the wait if that happens. Be kind, be patient – they bring it out fresh, as quickly as possible.

Finally after many decades of drive bys had family style dinner at Hollyhock. Reputation for the best fried chicken well deserved and in my memory is #1 for its specialty. Thin light batter crispy crunchy lightly properly seasoned skin and for me dark meat chicken meat perfectly tender and moist. Debated trying a different meat but glad I had the top of the menu list. Almost as if each piece was skillet fried exactly the same.

Food was average. Could get the same quality at a buffet. The server was awesome, but the food was way overpriced for the taste. ALSO, not many options on what you can buy. Basic chicken, basic steak, basic shrimp. Could have spent less and have had something I actually wanted from a chain restaurant. Also, the whole decor of the place is outdated. Feels like you’re walking into you great grandparents house. Will never be coming back here again.

My husband found this little gem when searching for Amish style food. One of very few restaurants that have true family style dining, and well known for their delicious fried chicken. All of the entrees come with multiple sides, served family style at the table. Our meals started with mixed salad, which comes with their own house recipe vinaigrette.. Which it appears they also sell bottles of.. the vinaigrette had a nice sweetness to it and was very tasty. The salad was served alongside fluffy warm biscuits and apple butter, cottage cheese, and pickled beets. The beets were so good that we got a refill on those. The entrees were served with sides of corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, and country gravy. My husband got the fried chicken entree, and paid an upcharge for all white meat chicken and an upcharge for a side of sweet & spicy sauce. I got the chicken tenderloin entree, fried (grilled is also an option) which comes with ranch dressing. All of the chicken was huge, perfectly cooked, perfectly fried, and delicious. Neither of us could finish our entree as it was so big and filling. Dinner is wrapped up by an included scoop of vanilla ice cream, accompanied by 3 syrups you can add – chocolate, mint, and butterscotch. They do have additional sides and desserts you can purchase separately – but the all included dinner is way more than enough. Our server was Chris – he’s worked there for over 20 years and his experience shows. Service was excellent. He was quick to give refills, clear the table, managed our table and a large party flawlessly, brought to go containers without even asking, and was very patient and kind. Even if the food wasn’t amazing, the service alone would be a reason to return… But the food and service together makes coming back a no brainer. We did ask if we returned could we share a meal and were told yes, but if you don’t get your own entree you are charged $16 for all the family style sides – not a bad deal. The prices are a bit higher than I like to spend on one meal – but the quality, portions, and service made it worth it in my opinion. The decor and atmosphere were very quaint. There is also outside dining.

We celebrated a milestone birthday here recently with a group of 12 and loved it. The chicken dinner is as good as ever!! It brought back many great food and family memories from the 80’s! Thanks!

The food was great and the table was well taken care of BUT our waitress was all over the place. Our table of 12 was told “everything is messed up because of the way we decided to do things” whatever that’s supposed to mean most of us ordered “couples meal” I feel if maybe they just brought the chicken out and sat it down VS her so concerned who got what piece of chicken things would have been a lot smoother. At one point the waitress snapped at the girl pouring water telling her “just stop, I’ll do it later” and then towards the end of the meal, with fork in hand she went to grab my plate. I had to tell her I was still eating. The meal was very rushed! The others helping clear the table and refill drinks were very nice.
