Food was amazing. Veggie medley comes with zuchinni, onion and mushroom and brocolli add on is only $2. Food tastes really great and is largely portioned. Enough for leftovers for lunch. Service is friendly and polite, also made them selves available to help. Loved that they played fail army videos LOL and had good radio music on. It is a great addition to surf city as it gives you something different then seafood, Mexican, Italian and bar food all the only other places have.

My son and I came to this place for the first time and it was so good! Great service. Delicious food. The blue crab dip appetizer was yummy and we had the filet minion and the steak hibachi bowl. So so good! Especially with their sauce!

Great Hibachi food without the big fancy show. If you want to experience some really good Japanese food brought to you fast by a friendly staff, this place is perfect. We really enjoyed our food and experience here. And they have Sapporo on Draft!!

If there was a rating for soul, this place would have zero stars. Cheaply made food, sub par drinks, meh service, and a bland and bleak dining area. Pretty small, and the food was edible, but not flavoured correctly. If you want unseasoned rice, salty meats, and wilty vegetables, you’ve found your place. The garnish and presentation is great, which will leave most guests confused at the taste. Their menu is also small, and seem overpriced due to the portions you receive. There’s not a lot of service as well, the server did sub par, but I could see the restaurant being overcrowded very quickly. The desserts were better than everything else. Would not recommend if you like authentic Asian food 1/10

We’ve been wanting to try Island Wok since they opened. Tonight, we were finally able to. Micah, our server, was attentive, gracious and helped us with menu selection. We started with the blue crab dip (one of Micha’s recommendations). WONDERFUL!

Food was very good! The chicken wonton appetizer is fabulous. I got shrimp hibachi and my cousin ordered the chicken fried rice, both of which were great. Best part was the white sauce! Our sever was also super kind and friendly. My only complaint was that it’s served on all paper which felt a little cheap and we didn’t have enough plates to share and have dipping sauces. Great food and service though!

This is second time we’ve tried Island Wok and it’s amazing. There’s something really special about the Hibachi here. The fried rice is fantastic, it was one of the best egg rolls I’ve ever had, and the veggies were cooked perfectly. Somehow, though, the service outshines the food. The staff is really friendly and I did my best but never got to see the bottom of my glass. One of the best places in Surf City for sure. Quantity and quality were super impressive.
