The Red Apple is worth the extra few miles off the I-88! Our server, Amanda, was very helpful in suggesting the regular customers favorite meals. I chose the healthy omelet with spinach and topped with avacado and fruit on the side. She said the cook arranges the fruit in different patterns for each plate and really cares about the presentation of each meal. The restaurant and bathroom were very clean and they even have hand sanitizer on the tables for you to use before your meal. We will definitely go back when we drive by Dixon again.

When you like a good country breakfast as much as our family does, Red Apple will not disappoint. Very friendly. Good lunch menu, too! Good-natured kidding around with the waitstaff (and other patrons) is a fun part of the experience whether you’re directly involved or observing from a table or three away. Recommended!

Great quantity for what you pay. Local breakfast/brunch restaurant with friendly waiters and owner. Got their cinnamon roll pancake and it was the best one I’ve had from any restaurant! Also wanted to try one of their omelets so I got a mushroom and broccoli omelet which was above average but nothing to write home about. If I went again, I’d want to try an omelet with more ingredients or one of the many good looking dishes they brought out past us.

My server, Amanda, was nice and honestly so amazing. She checked on us often and engaged with the kids. The food was amazing , good portions and well cooked. The hashbrowns were buttery and fluffy and perfectly cooked. Despite being a popular spot the service and food were spot on. 10/10 would recommend.

I would not recommend this place because they charge you extra for using a credit card. So many small business owners are shooting themselves in the foot by punishing their customers for paying with a card when so few people carry much cash any more. To me, the cost to the business owner for accepting credit cards is a cost of business that should be included in the price of the product or service. Additionally, people tend to spend more when they use credit cards so it actually pays for itself in the long run.
