By far best Mexican in the city. Taco Tuesdays 45 dollars for 14 gourmet tacos and drinks. Best chicken quesadilla I’ve had. Thick like a bowl of oatmeal (but with high quality chicken and Oaxaca cheese, not oats, in case that wasn’t clear). Excellent bartender. Great service. drop.

Fantastic place. Everything we ordered tasted like authentic Mexican. Compared to the numerous other Mexican places I’ve been to. Had those extra flavors that convinces me this is close to what it might taste if I were in Mexico. Also, the whole restaurant looked very nice with an open kitchen and also outdoor seating. Only minor problem I had is that they added 20% gratuity by default and we were just 3 ppl. I haven’t seen that in a lot of places unless it’s a party of 6 or more. Also, on top of that they had suggested us to pay 18, 20 or 22% tip. I haven’t seen that as well in the receipts before in case the gratuity was already added they would have much lower suggestions under the tip. Not that the waiter forced us to pay any tip after that but just putting it out there that as I found that to be uncommon when you’re a small party

I went in for a quick bite at happy hour, and I’m glad I did! I got a cold bottle of Victoria beer, elotes with a whole ear of corn split into two manageable skewers, and a shrimp taco. The food was delicious and came quickly, and the bartender kept me topped up with ice water without the need to ask for a refill.

Went for Cinco de Mayo and had a great time. The service took quite while, they seemed short staffed. With that being said the food was tasty. I had the birria and it was juicy and flavorful. The plantains….stop, they were so crispy and delicious. Would definitely recommend if you’re feeling mexican

We stopped by after the Phillies game and were very impressed with the quality of the food and drinks. The service was outstanding too. The aguachile was amazing as was the birria tacos. They also have an excellent selection of mezcal with a detailed menu explaining the agave and region where each was made. We well definitely head back to La Llorona Cantina in the near future!

La Llorona was a fun dinner experience with good Mexican staples and a solid drink menu. While none of the food we tried was particularly outstanding, the chips were tasty, tacos tender, and quesadilla very stuffed. My mezcal margarita was delicious as well. I didn’t love how the guacamole was served in the middle of a bowl of chips, as by the time we finished the guacamole a good amount of chips became soggy. Otherwise fun spot!

Food was terrific, service was good as well. A little weirded out by an automatic 20% gratuity added to our bill. We usually like to tip in cash but wondering why the tip was added automatically to the bill for a dinner of two. I know a lot of restaurants added it for a group and so on.

We were attending an event at Lincoln Financial Field and decided to take a short subway ride up to West Passyunk for an early dinner. We didn’t have a reservation but were quickly seated inside as we requested. We shared an appetizer of queso fundido with mushrooms. It was a good size for 2 to share with 4 tortillas. I had the shrimp risotto entree which was very good and had a small amount of spicy kick to it. My dining partner had a carne asada quesadilla that was generous in size and filling. We enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere. If we ever find ourselves in the neighborhood again this would be a great option.
