What a wonderful experience! Was greeted and seated immediately by the personable Jimmy, amazing service, thank you sir. Got the Unagi pie for an appetizer and it was spectacular. For the entree, got the Gyukotsu and I will always remember this dish! So flavorful and perfect, everything from the marinated egg (add-on) to the broth to the garlic. Music was a little intense for the vibe. Amazing overall, thanks to the team there!

The best ramen I’ve ever had! My friend ordered the “Shoyu” then add a dash of smoky fish oil and their spice mix. I ordered the “Miso” then asked for thin noodles and braised short rib, plus the smoky fish oil and a few dashes of spice mix; DELICIOUS! (One critique: I personally would have like more noodles, but to each their own.)

Presently surprised…was in the mood for Ramen and stumbled across this hidden Gem. I never had beef broth ramen but I’m glad I did. It was rich and delicious and packed with fresh ingredients. The braised short rib slice was tender and delicious as well.

The ramen was good, nothing crazy though. The karagge was tasty. However, the tuna tartare is one of the grossest things I’ve ever eaten. It tasted rancid and was literally served on something that appeared to be a ritz cracker. Really disgusting flavor, definitely do not order that. However, if you’re just coming for ramen, I think this is a pretty solid spot.

This is hands down my favorite place for ramen. The staff is amazing and so inviting, the Gyokutsu Miso is my number one bowl in all of NYC. It’s a warm, spicy, flavor packed umami bomb that you’ll always force yourself to finish because it’s so good. I would also recommend the Kaarage and the often off menu Arugula salad. The Kaarage is moist and fried to perfection with so much flavor but still lightly salted which is just chefs kiss. Although not extensive the range of sake and spirits perfectly pair with the small menu in this intimate space. If you are looking for a quiet low key first date. This is the place to go. The staff, the food, environment, and even the tunes will do most of the job impressing your date. So all you have to do is smell good, look good and be ready with good conversation. Za-ya gets a 5 out of 5 from me your Friendly Neighborhood black guy with the Beard.

First time here. So glad there is a a really good Japanese place nearby. The family enjoyed all of the food, it was very clean and authentic. The karage and avocado sushi for the kids was delicious, the server recommended her favorite, chicken broth ramen and now it is my new favorite. The kids split a miso ramen, super clean taste. The sashimi was amazing. Can’t wait to

great spot for a weeknight dinner on the sidewalk, excellent date atmosphere in the dining room. Food is delicious, suitable for any season, and well worth the pricing. I’ve always had excellent service coming here as well! Overall great value, ambience, and high quality. Top notch and a staple restaurant whether you live in the area or just visiting.

Love the food, love the service. We go almost every weekend. I’m surprised it isn’t packed. Their Karaage is so good and the Gyukotsu Miso Ramen is my favorite. This is the only restaurant I keep forgetting to take pictures of because I always start eating the food. Probably my favorite ramen close to me.

Went here on a weekend date with my lady, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left the staff were gracious, kind and helpful, for an appetizer we had the eel pie which was suggested by our waiter and if I could have it every day I would it was absolutely delicious, my partner had the lunch set and I had the shoyu ramen, both of our meals were cooked to perfection, the staff stuck the balance between helpful and letting you enjoy your meal, also the bathroom was absolutely spotless you could eat off the floor (not that I would suggest such a thing). We will be coming back and making this a regular spot in our restaurant rotation.

Absolutely love this spot—my ultimate comfort food. Favorites are the kumpira, karaage (best I have ever had), and the gyukotsu miso. The ramen broth is super rich and complex, unlike any other I’ve tried. 10/10!
