While we were in Oregon we stopped for dinner in Hood River at the Mesquitery. They were able to seat our party of 6 without a reservation which was great. Service was fast and friendly. Server helped us with menu and choices. I only took the one photo of my dinner special of scallops. They were cooked well and served over mushrooms, pico de gallo and with avocado. I ordered steamed veggies as the side, but these were not really cooked at all. This is a trend I’m noticing lately and a bit of a pet peeve. Trying to eat healthy, cook the veg!! Other menu items were all very tasty. Pork tenderloin with baked potato, fish tacos, Frisco burger, steak salad and asian chicken salad were all enjoyed. Didn’t have time for dessert but the options looked very good. Atmosphere was cool and there was awesome artwork on display and for sale.

Excellent, high end food at reasonable pricing. Casual atmosphere. Excellent service. I had the NY Strip and he had the steak and shrimp. Excellent side dish options. They literally have every kind of food on the menu. The food was amazing and cooked perfectly. Dessert was outstanding.

After a long day in Portland we were hungry! On the way home we considered many eateries. From soup to nuts and wrote off many: some greasy takeout to dine in to closed ! We finally went out of our way to this gem in Hood River. What a fabulous restaurant! Choices galore, cooked to perfection, 10+ staff service and atmosphere. Friendly crowd, Wonderful lounge and bar. Our #1 place to go out on town for dinner! Oh they open at 4pm,so lunch is ready too.

The Frisco Burger was perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic on the toasted sourdough bread. I really like that you can watch the chef/grill master cook the orders right there. I felt the whole place had a nice spirit about it.

Make a reservation if possible. This is a very busy restaurant. We were 2 adults & 1 child. We shared the 20oz steak with 3 sides & garlic bread. It was very tasty and just the right amount of food. We then shared a milk shake and the apple crumble dessert. Both were delicious. Husband ordered 2 oyster shooters & enjoyed them.
