Got to experience the speakeasy tonight and it was great! Riley was super chill and the drinks were on point. We had the pork belly bao buns and will definitely be coming back. Make sure you get a reservation on Fridays or Saturdays!

Great food…but expect a different twist on things. Not your normal flavors but in a good way! Flavors like wasabi in potato salad just sound like crazy mixes but definitely tasted amazing. Strong drinks too! Will definitely go back to keep exploring the menu.

I’m very familiar with Islander food and I’ve had my fair share, so I’ll try not to be too biased writing this review. Let’s start with the perks. It’s nice to see another business open in downtown Chula Vista. We really need more diverse places to eat in our South Bay community. I really like the concept of Lime in the Coconut and the decor was welcoming, inviting, and nicely decorated. We sat in a booth and felt far enough away from other guests (which I prefer these days with COVID and such). Frances our server was friendly and attentive. The cocktail drinks were fabulous and stole the show. Now for the food. Overall, it was ok. I think too much thought went into the fried musubi balls (the spam was minced and mixed in with the rice). I would’ve preferred chunks of spam. Unfortunately, they didn’t hold a light to Homestyle Hawaiian’s fried musubis (ouch, sorry). The smoked chicken was good. However, the garlic fried rice was so overdone that the rice grains were hard and difficult to chew. The wasabi in the potato salad was difficult to distinguish. The poke to wonton ratio was off on the nachos; the poke itself was good. The question I always ask myself is, would I return to this establishment? Although I’m glad we tried it I probably will not return. However, I would say it’s worthy to try at least once.

This was our first time time here and it did not disappoint. The service was great and the food was delicious. My favorite was the wonton ahi tuna nachos. We were so hungry that we had no time to take a picture of the Nachos. That’s how good they are. My husband had the loco moco and I had the garlic rice spam bowl with the potato wasabi salad. LOVED IT! We will definitely be back.

We just went and had a great dinner and experience. staff is friendly and attentive. Food is delicious. We ordered the bao flight with the kahlua pork and pork belly and they did not disappoint. we shared the appetizer and loved their poke nachos, yum. I have to order that by itself next time. The salt pepper wing had fried jalapeños on them, so it gave them an unexpected kick. musubi balls and coconut shrimp were fried perfect. we ordered Yokosoba noodles and beef katsu moco loco to share (i prefer spam and beef patty myself). the garlic rice was soooo good! order it with spam, it won’t disappoint! drinks were very fruity and refreshing. the atmosphere was a relaxed island vibe. gotta check out their speakers soon! pricing is good, many plates under $20.

I love tropical drinks so I had to try this place! The lime in the coconut drink was tasty. Their mai tai was also pretty good and I’m picky about mai tais. For food I really like the hurricane fries. I did the bao buns as well which you get to choose your protein for each of the 3. I think the kalua pork was the best option. I’d like to come back and try their hidden tiki bar one evening.

So excited this place finally opened up, and boy did it become one of our favorites right away. We tried it for the first time and went with the Poke Nachos and the pork belly Banh Mi sandwich. Both were absolutely amazing. The fish was so fresh. The drinks we ordered we’re perfectly balance with alcohol. Don’t recommend the Scorpio if you are a lightweight. They did a great job with the decor of the place. Staff was ultimately friendly and inviting. Can’t wait to go back and try out other menu items.

The atmosphere was chill and the servers were very attentive. The food was delicious. I’d definitely come back. Garlic rice ans ahi poke was so good I didn’t leave anything behind. Fiancé had the fish and chips and he said it was very flaky, in a good way. The Bao flight was super delicious. We had the pork and chicken.

We had a great time in both the restaurant and the speakeasy Tiki bar. Food was very good and setting was super casual, bright and tropical in the restaurant. Tiki bar was fun to get into and quite dark but that is on purpose. Tiki decor is relatively sedate. That is it is more sparse and not super over the top every each covered. But it’s definitely all over and enough. Drinks we’re good over all, and lots of variety. One or two were great, the others good, I don’t think you can go wrong ordering any of them. I’ve been to a lot of tiki places so am perhaps more critical than most, but would definitely go again.
