Great little spot in the heart of lower village next to Kennebunkport. Great little area busy with tourists. This location is right on the main drag but you feel like you’re in your own little space. Atmosphere is clean, crisp and intimate, all wrapped in one. Food was delicious. Psaki selection was amazing. Recommend it if you were in town.

Without question this was one of the best sushi meals I’ve ever had. Very creative spins on traditional dishes. Everything was done with local or natural ingredients as well. The miso carrot cake was to die for.

What a delightful and delicious experience! Matt guided us through the most delicious meal! I loved the ceviche with scallops, corn and coconut milk. The ambiance was friendly and companionable. I made new friends chatting at the bar. Service was lovely! Highly recommend!

Sushi is incredible, this is the place to bring someone who is “sushi curious” as the rolls are very refined and exquisitely paired with perfect flavors. My fiance thought she didn’t like sushi and left with her mind blown.

After a very disappointing experience at another area restaurant claiming to be 5*, we walked into Rosella starving, with no reservation. The host greeted us immediately and delightfully explained to us what kind of experience we’d receive at the sushi bar (their first available seating). Her warmth helped us out of our funk and into the excitement of our meal to come. Our chef, Genevieve, guided us in selecting a mix of sashimi, nigiri, and big rolls that were perfectly crafted and the right amount of food for our preferences. We enjoyed Negroni Sour’s and Chenin Blanc with the meal, great recommendations from their Somm and cocktail team. With a sister property in NYC, we had no doubt everything would be tasty but we were elated by how delicious and how professional their staff was. Given the fact that we’ve had mediocre food or service at many other restaurants in the area, we were thrilled by the total package Rosella offers. A true testament to their quality and approach to small batch sourcing, several dishes began to sell out quickly. Since we were a later (unexpected) seating, we would like to go back earlier in the evening another time to ensure we get to try more things before they sell out! We likely will return again on this trip, and highly recommend this restaurant to others. Thank you for having us!

Service was great and the staff were wonderful. Fish is fresh and Sushi is good, albeit a bit unconvetional. I’ll be clear, the one star review is based solely on the cost. There were two of us. We each had two glasses of wine, a miso soup and a “big roll” which is basically one normal roll, which is also to say, not much. When we were handed the bill we were informed a 20% gratuity was already included. OK, we usually tip well anyway and would have done so, again, the staff were great. When it’s automatically included however, it’s no longer a gratuity, just gratuitous. When did restaurants begin to get to decide how pleased I am with the meal, experience and service ahead of time? Just short of $200 for what amounted to 4 glasses of wine and an appetizer. Want a glass of flat water? That will be $9. Are we in Manhatten? Switzerland? Won’t be revisting. Actually felt taken advantage of and it ruined the experience.

Rosella is incredible for anyone who wants Japanese food. The spicy tuna is just hands down, AMAZING! It even has REAL wasabi and wagyu. The staff of the restaurant is so friendly! You can even watch the chefs make sushi! Anyone who wants food in Kennebunk or Kennebunkport must come here.
