I stopped by Padoolers this afternoon to see if this place was as good as the reviews indicated. I was not disappointed. I had the brisket sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m generally one that likes his brisket sliced on the thin side. The reason for this is that slicing thin can be insurance that the brisket is edible even if it’s a little tough. No worries about that here. The brisket was sliced thicker than I normally prefer, but it made no difference because it was literally fork-tender. It made a great sandwich. The flavor was wonderful. I’m anxious to come back and try the ribs and pulled pork.

The BEST brisket I have ever had! The most tender and I had half of it without sauce because the most was so good. And after 25 years in Texas and 35 years in Kansas City, I have had a LOT of BBQ. If you are in the KC metro and looking for great BBQ, it’s worth the drive.

This place was delicious! We didn’t like the coleslaw ♀️ but that is an individual opinion. I only mention it because if you are looking for bland regular coleslaw like KFC, you won’t get that here. He makes it himself and it is flavorful and gourmet I feel like there were onions in it and I don’t do onions.

Spectacular BBQ! I don’t consider myself very experienced in the craft, but my mom is and says the beans here rival some of the best she’s had. The meat was smoked so well as to have that red color throughout the strip while still maintaining it’s moisture. The buns were soft but not soggy, the sauce was fantastic, bravo Paul and family 😀

The BEST BBQ brisket I have ever had. Melt in your mouth tender. I ordered online for carryout, it was simple and ready when I got there. Very friendly service also. So excited to have something like this in Peculiar.

I know they’re popular for the pulled pork and brisket, but I need to praise the smoked ham. It’s sliced kinda thin and will make terrific sandwiches. I’ll be getting more to put on homemade pizza. Smoky, juicy, hammy perfection. Got the brisket and beans for my hubby and this native Texan approves!
